Biggest robbery? GSP/Hendricks or Jones/Reyes?

I'm not sure if either fight was a robbery. Same with machida v shogun.

In both fights there was a clear frontrunner that lost steam and shrunk back in the championship rounds.

Obviously it's not in the scoring rules but both loser did not show that championship heart and veteran guile at the end of the fight.

Seeing this from champions is just beautiful let's be honest. Like Jone vs Gus 1 when he finds that spinning elbow or Izzy vs Kelvin in round 5 or Aldo vs Mendez 1.

Like this is an intangible that makes the difference in the heart of people.

Ah.. yeah, no. I don't think there's much of an argument that Jones should have won.
Just quoting because Picto eating leather is always quotable.
Beautiful upper.
Just imagine if Reyes had a better hairline... He'd have killed Picto

I'm Brazilian and nipo descendant. Was rooting for Machida. I distinctly remember telling my japanese cousin that Shogun kicked Machida's ass.

Reyes was really easy to score. Clear win.
StPierre-Hendricks was a closer fight but Hendricks was geared to the gills so I’m glad he lost.

Same, but I told my cousin machina kicked shoguns ass. Interesting

After three rounds it is indisputable that Reyes was more gassed and had taken more total damage. It is literally impossible that he won each of rounds one through three on any reasonable scoring criteria. You can't have a fighter losing three rounds as a whole while also winning each round without having internally inconsistent scoring criteria. Math doesn't work that way.
WTF are you talking about? Outscore your opponent in the round you win the round. Do that 3 times out of 5 and you win. If Jon had done damage he would be deserving of winning those rounds but he did not. Stop making shit up.

Neither are the biggest robberies of all time, but of those two quite obviously Reyes vs Jones.

It still gets me that ppl think GSP/Hendricks was a robbery. It was such a close fight

Machida Shogun was as clear cut a robbery as I've ever seen.
One of the judges, Cecil Peoples, said "Leg kicks don't win fights" which is why he scored it for Machida.
If that isn't a robbery to you, then I don't know what is.

Of the two at hand, Reyes Jones is the clearer robbery. GSP Hendricks was a close fight, Jon decisively lost the first 3 rounds against Dom.

GSP/Hendricks should have been a draw, GSP retaining the title regardless.

Reyes quite clearly won the first three rounds 10-9 and Jones didn't win the last two with any 10-8's.

One is a pretty clear robbery while the other should be viewed as a draw. I normally stay away from this one because it really could have gone either way.

Reality is that Georges didn't like getting hit, and he showed everything in damage too. As posted above, he looked sliced up in multiple fights that he clearly dominated. There's no question that he looked worse in the Hendricks aftermath, but that image swayed a lot of people improperly.

Very interesting. I told my cousin like 7am next morning. We went on a 10k run. No idea why he couldn't watch together.
Also, cool that we joined 1 month apart here. My first got banned in the 70s.
You in Floripa by any chance? Let's grab a beer sometime. Cheers.

I'm a big GSP fanboy.

But I scored it 48-47 Hendricks. I've rewatched this fight many times, and yeah Hendricks won.

The Jones fight I scored 48-47 Jones, but I'm not entirely sure of that and haven't seen the fight since it happened.
Same here. Watched it live once and rewatched it once years later and sadly big rigg won that.

I think if you go by round by round scoring, Jones vs Reyes. GSP vs Hendricks makes sense the way the system is.

But I think its fair to say GSP vs Hendricks is a good argument for whole fight, Pride style scoring. Hendricks's rounds 2 and 4 were far more damaging than GSP's rounds 1, 3, and 5.
