then you should know that size does matter...
every 160 pounder on every high school team i have ever been around could beat the HW.
even in collegiate wrestling the HW arent as good as the 197s.
Anything more than 20+ is going to be a huge advantage, you will need signficantly more technique to overcome any higher. Do not kid yourself please.
Yea so? I bet the 160 lbs couldn't beat the 190 lbers.
wait... there's winning and losing in practice?
it's practice... I understand the competitive nature, but there's no shame in tapping... in fact, the guys that tap me are the ones that I have the most fun rolling with...
as for size, it does make a difference... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Training with people that are larger (or smaller) changes the experience. It forces you to adapt, find what works in different situations...
...and it's not like there are weigh-ins before self-defense situations in real life.
I'm 6'1, 145 lbs, so practically every guy I roll with is bigger and stronger than I am. Significantly. A stronger purple belt or experienced blue belt doesn't tap me because he is stronger, it's because he is much better than I am. The bigger stronger white belts that have been training for a month or two manhandle me because they are bigger and stronger, yes, but also because I'm a white belt and I still suck. That's why I don't get pissed off.
In a year the average medium size guy will be glad he's not the average giant.
Whaaa?
