That link made me feel good about my very modest, all-natural gains.

Anyway, Lazar Angelov has the ideal physique, imo.

I know, I know, he's on gear too.

I thought that was Costas phillipou.

hes not dead but I remember the day I saw lee priests face tattoo... I still remember how hard I facepalmed.

If I could look like any bodybuilder, it would be either Levrone (for the aesthetic + freak factor) or Bob Paris (if he wasn't gay, I'm reasonably sure he could have gotten any woman he wanted)

gd levrone was effin sick. always thought it was a bit of a conspiracy to why Wheeler, and Levrone never one at least one sandow. I heard Flex was a bit of a prick back in the day. but Levrone I've never heard anything bad about.

Those detransformations are pretty fucking insane. I don't really get it. I mean, I understand leaning out and not looking like an action figure, but wouldn't they at least keep training and maintain a pleasing natural physique?

Agreed. One of the pics though (bob paris) doesn't look so bad. You can't tell with his clothes on really but I think he might still be ripped under that shirt. If you look down at his calves that still have a lot of muscle under them.

When your a smaller size (170-190) it's a bit harder to tell how jacked you are with clothes on. I know two different guys at my gym who look fit with clothes on but when they get changed into workout clothes they're jacked.

I have a buddy who is 5'8. No matter how massive he gets he just doesnt look right at that height. Girls dont really like that oafy business.

I noticed some people mention insulin. What's the purpose for it in bodybuilding? What are the side affects?

99% of people trying to get massive arent doing it for others.

People say when you take it with meals it helps to transport more nutrients into the muscle. I imagine a side effect of taking insulin everyday when you aren't diabetic would cause your body to produce less insulin, but I'm not expert on the issue.

Not for the first time, my 100kg benches and 8 mile runs don't seem so tragic and pointless.

In a very short summary, to hammer nutrients into your muscles and increase protein synthesis.

Glycemic shock, comas, becoming lifelong insulin dependent, and gaining fat when used improperly are the possible side effects.

Stay the fuck away from it imo.

This man speaks the truth.

I have done insulin a handful of times (primarily to glycogen load during a carb up). In each instance, I REALLY struggled to get my blood sugar back up - I was downing juice, chocolate bars etc, and I was still going hypo. It was so bad, that I was sweating uncontrollably and slurring my words.

With that being said, it fills you out like no other. It's the reason why guys keep going back despite the obvious dangers.

It needs to be outlawed in a hurry. People have died and/or done irrepairable damage and theres thousands of guys at the gym who are desperately searching for the quick method of getting jacked.

This is so much more dangerous than a steroid it blows my mind you can still get it OTC.

That's crazy. Never would I ever.

Personally, if you want to strive to be a competitive powerlifter cool. But I have no idea why anyone wants to shape their body like these hugely oversized bodybuilders for just an aesthetic appeal. If I wanted to train just for looks, I'd want a body like Luke Rockhold or something. Lean, toned and defined but muscular. Not these guys who look like they just ate three cows.

Fighters usually look much better aesthetically than BBs to me. I'd much rather have GSP or Weidman's physique than Jay Cutler's.

Wheeler and Levrone got fucked and had to compete against Ronnie Coleman. There was just no way anyone was going to beat Ronnie when he had that kind of flat out ridiculous size even though they were more aesthetically balanced, IMO.

I mean look at Coleman's legs vs Levrone.

Coleman reminds me of those muscle-bound cattle out in the fields with muscle spasms and shit. Dude was not human.

It's a form of body dismorphia. The more you lift, the more time you spend looking at guys bigger than you, and the smaller you feel. All of these guys have muscle groups they're happy with, and others that they think are "small", because they've seen photo's of Tom Platz or Greg Valentino.

It's not really that different from anorexic girls who could be be atttactive if only they'd eat a few cheeseburgers.

Yeah many probably started to "get girls" but it quickly becomes something else entirely. Most of them are fully aware that they have blown way past what would be considered ideal the the majority of women.

I think it is a huge reason why these guys stay so confined to their own little circles because that's the only world where they really feel like they get the admiration they need.

I always loved Greg Valentino describing how grossed out women were by him but he doesn't care. All that matters is getting bigger and freakier.

People have different views of what is aesthetically pleasing.

Though Im a firm believer that a large portion of body builders have body dysmorphia/insecurity mental issues, conversely some people are just never satisfied unless they are the best at what they do.
