And just for the record, powerlifting has little to do with size. Say powerlifter and most draw a mental image of Strongman competitors. That is a tiny fraction of the sports population.

Check out Richard Hawthorne.

And further, most BBs are Ronnie Colemans or Arnolds either.

If I could look like any bodybuilder, it would be either Levrone (for the aesthetic + freak factor) or Bob Paris (if he wasn't gay, I'm reasonably sure he could have gotten any woman he wanted)

It's a myth amongst guys that bodybuilders are considered to be attractive by women.

I'd bet money that at a superficial level, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp are more superficially attractive to heterosexual women than a guy like Bob Paris.

Views on male physiques seemed to have shifted drastically the last 20 years or so.

Imagine seeing Johnny Depp next to Fabio or Arnold back in the 90s.

Completely disagree I'd bet hard Vcash that Kevin Levrone and his ilk get more ass thrown their way than they can handle. think about all the guys with normal physiques and normal jobs if you have just a little game you can pull a lot of ass.

these guys........cmon mang. You think a dude like Mike Ohearn in southern California no less isn't getting top shelf poon thrown at him on a constant basis?

most women's fantasy is to get rammed in the sack by some well built alpha male.

This reminds of the time that 280 lb bodybuilder got a job pouring concrete with us. Mother fucker couldn't even swing a 10 lb sledgehammer as hard as a bunch of guys 100 lbs less who don't lift. Aesthetically he looked like a tank, but there was no functionality to those show muscles.

Some are "all show no go". Others are huge and strong as all fuck along with it.

Generally speaking most of them have dog shit stamina though.

yeah until recently you'd hardly see a lot of guys even jacked dudes deadlifting and squatting. I myself would load damn near every 45lb plate in the gym to leg press .but could barely squat a respectable weight lol.

also the BB types that do that first roll in BJJ and get tapped by some skinny looking guy.

Lord that one hit home lol. Have a buddy that Ive known a long time, he is a trainer, and I use that term lightly, at a shitty gym and all he does is talk about it. He is fitness guru and can turn you into any athlete you want to be, he himself is a gym god and blah blah blah.

Finally go to the gym with him for "leg day" and this tard is hitting leg presses with 18 plates, yet had to bail out of a 315lbs squat.

"Powerbuilding" is really taking over the scene. Strict powerlifters are working and building their accessory muscles through body building techniques to get themselves over plateaus and such. See a lot more high rep work and a lot more accessory stuff outside of the big 3 lifts.

That has to do more with technique. When I first started bjj, all the guys tapped me out, even the scrawny ones. Once I knew what I was doing, I was ragdolling everybody, except the big guys.

good god that use to me:redface: I'm truly embarrassed thinking back on it. I use to think I was da sheet to leg pressing all those wheels.

He looks so lonely. no one will even talk to him.

Sad part is he probably doesnt care. Id be the house he is looking at every other dude at that pool and judging their physique and thinking how much better his is. In his mind anyway.

Cant count how many times Ive heard them say they love knowing theyre the biggest guy in the room.

I'm a brown belt in BJJ and I've seen scrawny 15 year old kids with more heart and will to fight than like 90% of these steroid casualties that turn up at my gym. These guys will usually ask to sit out the second they gas (making sure not to actually tap because that would mean they lost, it's usually some bullshit halfway house measure - 'oh I'm not quitting, just a bit tired' two minutes into a roll).

I would much rather be someone with actual functional strength and abilities than some puffed up peacock who is no good for anything other than show.

A uncle of mine was about Lesnar sized and he didnt have trouble with the ladies. But he also wasnt the meat head type so that helped i imagine. I know its crazy idea but women have wildly different tastes

Well, most of them arent training to fight, so not sure why youd expect them to be good at it.

They arent training to be strong either.

To each his own.

Also, functional strength is a stupid myth started by Crosshit idiots.

Strength is strength is strength.

Applying strength through form of whatever the given activity is is all there is to "function".

What I mean by functional strength is that I have easily outwrestled and ragdolled guys who probably could lift a hell of a lot more than me. It must be kind of depressing to spend all your life in the gym then realizing the only guys you can outwrestle have to be 100lbs lighter than you.

It's bad enough these guys gas so quickly but even before that they don't feel strong in the slightest.

Lol are you that insecure with people being bigger than you?

Why? If they werent spending time in the gym to wrestle then why should they be disappointed that someone is better at wrestling?

If you spent your time in a wrestling gym would you be disappointed when a powerlifter lifts more than you? If a body builder has a better physique?

If youre training for one specific thing then thats what you should expect to be good at.

People have this weird notion that because you are huge and musclar you are supposed to be a mean bad ass fighter. Fighting skills come through training. Of course someone who trained in that would be better than someone who didnt. And again, form is how strength is applied. Without it it does not get you far at all.
