Crime Biden commutes nearly all federal death sentences

That’s cause you still want to believe that murders can be rehabilitated. How many actual innocent death row inmates have there been? How many lifers have committed a murder of a fellow inmate or guard?

Whether murderers can be rehabilitated has nothing to do with my argument. How many innocent death row inmates have there been? 200 people have been exonerated from death row since 1973. That number should be shocking considering that it takes a MOUNTAIN of evidence to overturn a conviction for something that qualifies for the death penalty.

I don't think this is a big deal. Governors commute death sentences all the time and nobody makes a fuss. Biden didn't set anyone free. Those people are most likely going to die in prison.

So they were exonerated before they were executed, I asked how many were actually executed.

No, you asked "How many actual innocent death row inmates have there been?" I gave you an answer. Care to state how you feel about that?

As far as "innocent" death row inmates that have been executed? Hard to know. Why? Because generally once someone is put to death, the fight to exonerate them ends. Why is this relevant? Because for those that HAVE been exonerated, it generally takes DECADES against all odds. So we know that based on those statistics, innocent people have been executed.

Once someone is executed the courts do not continue to review the case, so there is no way of knowing.

Though this has been studied, and the estimates range between 2-5% of those on death row are innocent. Which could add up to dozens of innocents being killed since 1973.

No it’s not hard to know if DNA evidence proved their innocence. So you can you one wrongfully executed person?

For the records I think it’s terrible for anyone to be in prison let alone death row if they’re 100% innocent, but I doubt that any of those pardoned are going suddenly be proven completely innocent.

Convicted Conway bank killer asks for compassionate release.

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — After having his death sentence commuted to life by President Joe Biden, Brandon Council is now asking for a compassionate release, according to a motion filed in federal court on Friday.

Even if he doesn't get it right now he will with help of democrats keep at it and very well one day get out.

"Yea fuck the victims this poor misunderstood victim of a racist system deserves a second chance. "

It is hard to know once everyone stops looking, which is exactly what happens once someone is executed in most cases.

Executed But Possibly Innocent

If you think it's horrible for someone to be put on death row if they're 100% innocent, then you should be 100% against the death penalty in the way it is put into practice in the United States.

I don’t think everyone on death row is innocent

The death penalty is too subjective and therefore can’t be applied with equal protections to everyone. Thats not justice.

Cool. I don't think everyone on death row is innocent either. Are you OK with those who are actually innocent but still on death row, being lined up for execution?

I’m going to need actual concrete numbers of innocent like the way the hurricane was innocent, not they were in the gang or get away car and still charged and convicted, so far not even one person (besides me naming a famous boxer) can name one innocent person that was even just serving life in prison for murder.

So yeah I don’t think there’s a lot taken off death row for being innocent. Appealed and retried then sentenced to life? Appealed and granted new trials due to lawyer error?

If you’re asking if I was on a jury could I vote for the death penalty? Yes, if beyond a reasonable doubt I could. But I wouldn’t even vote guilty if there was reasonable doubt.
