30 min jog

You might be wondering why is a guy who is 250 jogging....because I should be 230, that and my wife is training for a half marathon. I'm not going to run it with her, but there is no way she's running around the city after dark alone.

Last night we were jogging along the usual dark canal trail that passes under the Aurora bridge and serves as a long driveway for some houseboaters (this is the spot).

We spy the strobbing blue and red lights from a police car and as we get closer I say," I think thats police tape." We can see two figures silhoutted by the squad car headlights, one taking drags off a cigarette, chatting next to police line. As we get closer and slowly squeek by the police tape we see a yellow tarp spreadout on the ground covering what has to be a body. Behind the cop car is the medical examiner's truck, who is photographing the scene. A jumper...As we jogged away looking back at the the lumpy yellow tarp highlighted by two pairs of headlights, my wife said,"good thing we didn't leave 30 minutes earlier or we would have found the body." She's right. I usually stop in that exact spot under the bridge to take a leak because its very dark right under the bridge.

A sign on the Aurora bridge.

You guys look at the glass half empty....what if you had been there 31 mins early. you might have had a chance to save that guy.

No. That bridge is quite high, and he landed on asphalt and gravel. At first it didn't occur to me it was a body because the form under the tarp was twisted and lumpy. If we found him, we would have almost tripped over him as it is very dark under the bridge.

Now if we were running over the bridge...that would be a different story. I've seen people being corraled off the bridge by police before that were threatening to leap.

I was wondering about the people that live in houseboats along that stretch on canal, I bet the find a jumper or two each summer. Sad really.

The 2nd rep of 275 may have been the slowest squat in history. I think thats the end of the noob gains for front squatting. First time trying barbell lunges. I normally avoid these because lunges aggravate my right Achilles, but I'll still try them again. I still I prefer db Bulgarian split squats, Zercher heavybag walking lunges, and box pistols for unilateral work. I need to add step-ups back into the routine (maybe zercher step-ups).

Its time I learn one arm barbell rows as my gyn only goes to 110lbs. I need to trry some assisted one arm pullups too. Last time I tried them I was totally ashamed how little I could pull with my left arm.

Oh Yeah...My PP rocks!

PeriWO: 1tsp BCAAs, 1/2 Serv. TP mix (9g carbs: 5g protein), 1 serv Gatorade (13g carb).
PWO: 2.5 serv TP Mix. (44g carb: 24g protein) w/ skim milk (26:18), banana

I went a little bananas. If someone would have even tapped my on the shoulder during that set I would've bitten their f'ing cheek off. I was in in an different place.

My lower and upper back were screaming sore a day later... it was golrious...except when I dropped something on the floor and needed to pick it up....then it was sad. I was mentally drained for a couple days.

I'm going for 20 next month, if I can just find my way back there...then its mine.

For the first time in a week it actually isn't...low-mid 60's all week. :icon_neut

I was all layered up too...Prepared for 40's and got 60's. Your right, I'll take it.

This coming from the guy who hasn't seen his nuts in over a decade.

If you weren't twice as strong as me and the closest thing I have to a friend, I would take serious offense at that. Well that and I did just call you a cocksucker.
