Better for MMA: Powerlifting or Olympic lifts?

When are we gonig to get beyond either/or?
What about the style/weaknesses and strenghths of the individual fighter?
What about absolute strength, spped strength, etc...?
Waht about unilateral work?

Don't worry about it, this thread is ridiculous, and should be ignored. Now if we were talking about a top 4 or 6, then it would be much better.

My background is wrestling and some past life street fighting, so not a lot of MMA experience ( I have always wondered how I would have fared if I were younger and so inclined) I did more olympic type lifting during wrestling season and more powerlifting type stuff in the off-season but just as a general rule. Probably a combo of both.

In the debate between powerlifting or oly lifts I say...yes lol. Its so personal depending on what you need to work on. A bit like asking if you should train hooks or straight punches in boxing :) but personally I need more of both so I am mixing in certain exercises now during my 2month strength cycle like cleans for deadlifts or front squats occasionally etc. this 1.works as assistance lifts for my upcoming oly cycle while getting my body a bit more power/explosion focused. 2. Breaks up the monotony a bit.

^^^Not a big fan of any of those really

I've been using this circuit for the last 8 weeks

1. isolation curls
2. calf raises
3. chest fly machine
4. crunches
5. more crunches
