Both credentials-wise and effectiveness-in-MMA.

RDA has great TDD but his credentials in wrestling are non-existent.

Abel Trujillo has some wrestling background but it's not that strong and his wrestling stats in the UFC are terrible.

Cmon it doesn't matter. Khabib was a NAGA grappling no-gi welterweight worldchamp. He'll smesh all in LW

I don't see anyone on his record with NCAA DIV I wrestling pedigree.

Some college wrestling [not NCAA DIV level] and that's about it.

I'm rooting for him.

When I root for a fighter I get neurotic about all the ways said fighter could lose.

I think Tony Ferguson might have the best wrestling background out of any opponents Khabib has ever faced.

Worth noting that he was able to effortlessly take down Barboza, who has an amazing TDD (83% AFTER the Khabib fight) but I'm a little concerned here...

Fergie is not known for his wrestling. He's a star product of 10th planet bjj, he's just so dynamic everywhere

I don't think Cucuy wrestled D1, but he did have some decent collegiate pedigree. He and Kevin Lee wrestled at the same college.

Shalorus, Pat Healey, Abel and RDA. M.Jhonson has also done some wrestling if I'm not mistaken.

Shalorus was an Olympic qualifier in wrestling.

Healy was a Div II Wrestler in college

Tibau was a wrestling champ in Brazil

Johnson and Trujillo were both collegiate wrestlers, albeit not at the highest level.

RDA and thavares were both 2nd or 3rd degree BJJ black belts in their own right.

Tony has similar wrestling experience to Johnson and Trujillo.

It matters little imo when it’s not utilized to its full potential.

TJ is a college wrestler with fantastic mma wrestling.

Ferguson is a college wrestler with less than dynamic takedowns in mma and his TDD isn’t great. He’s a scrambler though

I was looking at his stats in the middle of this thread and apparently, he got taken down 2X by Barboza... wtf.

Stats-wise he's worse than Barboza too. Both cumulatively and in their actual bout.

Yeah Edson caught kicks and took him down. He was actually doing pretty good on top until he attempted the sloppier TD in the second and Tony caught his neck in transition

IIRC Pat Healy had a strong wrestling background, but we all know what happened, pretty much domination.
