best revenge wins in MMA

Adesanya-Pereira 2 & Johnson-Moraes 2 are up there.

Charles Olivera lost for the first time in his career to Jim Miller as a purple belt by kneebar
He got his revenge as a blackbelt 8 years later by submitting Jim by Rnc in the first round .
That would feel so fucking good ;)

Now that olivera /islam is on the very near horizon what were some of the best revenge wins in the history of the sport.

1. the brutality of the loss must be taken into consideration.

2. the brutality of the revenge win must be taken into consideration.

3. the importance of both fights taken into consideration(ie title fights would rate higher than prospect fights)

example:
Fighter A destroys fighter B in the first fight but fighter B destroys fighter A in the rematch would rate much higher than

Fighter A winning a close fight in the first fight but fighter B wins the rematch by decision

My pick - cain losing by first round ko to dos santos but winning the rematch by absolutely dominating and bluegunning dos santos into a bloody pulp after 5 rounds in the rematch.

Arlovski taking his revenge on Bigfoot was pretty awesome especially since no one thought he had a chance. That was back when Silva was still a feared opponent.

Although I think in retrospect its pretty clear Bigfoot was a shadow of his former self after the brain op.

My most satisfying picks have already been posted, but those were glorious:

-Sakuraba vs Nino "Elvis" Schembri 2 (especially since the first loss was because of an illegal headbutt)

-Shogun vs Machida 2 (after the bullshit judge decision the first time I was afraid that Mauricio couldn't pull it off again, Machida still had his aura of invincibility and for all we knew, Rua had managed to pull off the performance of his career, got screwed, and would also lose the rematch... the KO was glorious, it was like something out of a Rocky movie)

-Shogun vs Forrest Griffin 2 was magical, after Griffin pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history it felt great watching the "right timeline" take form

- Cro Cop vs Gonzaga & Roy Nelson 2, for obvious reasons (huge Mirko fan, so his late career revival was great to watch, even if he didn't win the UFC gold there are other goals in the sport)
The Roy Nelson rematch in Bellator also had this weird ending:
Thanks for the messages you sent me before and after the fight, from my heart thank you. You saw the fight and I won't commentate too much. Nelson is a hard and tough opponent for everybody.

After the fight he made an unnecessary circus, but it is what it is. He complained about anything and everything. He even told the commission that my legs were greased?! So the representatives of the Athletic commission came into my dressing room and checked me?! Even though from me getting into the arena, all until the end of the fight I had a representative follow me around, even to the toilet, non stop and I was checked before the fight.

They though smiled and one of them even told me that Nelson simply is like that, constantly some kind of circus with him; "At one show he is saying that we are the best in the world and at another we are the worst trash". After that Nelson started threatening around and he even said that he will bring a gun with him. I don't know to whom he said that, but the police came and searched through his room. There is no fucking around with the police here.

After all that he actually sent me a message congratulating me and asking for a rematch. My answer was: "Why not?", but that isn't dependent on me... I'm not sure about his status in Bellator after all that.

And one more thing. In the match happened the most bizarre thing in my career. In one of the clinches as I was holding him on the fence the guy bites my finger!! The bite was over the mouth piece which, of course, took away from the strength of the bite, but that somebody can think of that I didn't know before last night. Greetings!!

I can do better than that:

Tito/Chuck
Rampage/Wand
Adesanya/Pereira

Weirdly for me Tito/Chuck III falls in the same category as Barnett/Rizzo 2... the rematch was soooo long after the initial winner's prime, that the latest result doesn't matter much...
What a weird fight that was for Chuck to take though, high risk, zero reward.
Would have been better for the Iceman to chase a third fight with Rampage, who was declining way worse than Tito and if Liddell lost, well "Quinton got his number, oh well"

A bit like Wand vs Rampage 4 I guess, the first 3 fights are one thing, they were both still trying their best, and were in their prime (a bit passed for Silva, but still) but the 4th one was just for $$$ I guess

Cain brutalized JDS two times.

I was rooting for JDS, but he took a bad beating. Lost a few iq points and a lot of years off his life from that. His kids will feel it as they get older.

He was done as a fighter after that.

Cain lost to JDS and then proceeds to shorten JDS’ prime career and possible shorter life with two of the most brutal beat downs ever.

Bisping vs Hendo 2 was the opposite. Doesn't even qualify as revenge
