Best home defense melee weapon

Baseball bat or machete. I also have a hammer pretty close to my bed. I feel like I could split some skulls with a hammer.

Realistically, I would use my hammer as well. I have a WWII era bayonet near my bed which is pretty much a short sword so I could possibly duel wield a hammer and the bayonet. Hopefully seeing me running at him like that would give a criminal pause.

Realistically, fucking someone up with a sword or dedicated melee weapon won't be legally accepted where I'm from. This is mostly fantasy as my best bet to be legally safe is to get an intimating looking weapon and hope they get scared off. Self-defense laws are asinine here. There was a case of a dude who beat up two home invaders with his fists by himself, and the court decided he used "too much" force and sentenced him to prison. If I stab someone breaking into my house and I end up killing him, I am afraid I will get charged with murder.

Do you get charged with anything if you don't have a prepared meal ready for home invaders? What if they were to get hungry while murdering you and stealing your stuff?! You monster!!!!

I have heard tales told of an ancient oriental weapon called a baseball bat.


Personally I like the little T-ball bats or whatever those are called, because you still have good blunt force ability, but since they're shorter and a little thinner, you can maneuver around a lot easier. With a regular bat, if you miss a swing, you're gonna be bad out of position for a second.

IDK. In a big city in a developing country, you can find baseball bats. Even in Burma and Tanzania and shit.

I just think baseball bats are very poorly weighted as weapons.

I keep an ASP baton in the car. The last time I thought about using it was when a local gangster followed me, drove into opposing traffic, cut me off in the middle of an active intersection in broad daylight and came after me. (I have the video from my dashcam.)

I grabbed it and was going to put it directly across his shin to Anderson Silva it (I've practiced the timing on this), then go to work but I looked around, realized there were dozens of cameras on us (in front of the main bus terminal for the city) and with dozens upon dozens of witnesses and me in an insanely conspicuous car, I just got out and had a yelling match with this guy before we went our separate ways.

Yeah, a legit baton is s bad ass weapon. Led weighted billy clubs are brutal too.

Baseball bat is just a cheap easy and convenient solution imo. I as kidding about the 3rd world comment btw, I assume you can order just about anything in the web bat wise

My best melee weapon for home defense is my glock 23c we have the castle doctrine here and anyone breakin in will be carried out..............Id try and get them off the carpet tho because blood stain is hard to get out.
