Social Best Fancy Cologne?

Yeah I meant 200ml in what your looking at. Most Tom fords are pricy but they don’t need a lot and the scent lasts a long time, don’t think I’ve ever picked up a 200ml from Tom ford, we’ll I know I haven’t because I’d still have it now! Lol. What are you going for?
Just the "Fucking Fabulous" in the 50ml bottle was like $390!

I have a few different ones I'm looking at but the main one I keep coming back to above all the ones I've sampled, that I genuinely like, is 1 Million Parfum. It has an interesting sweet smell that smells good both on the paper and on my skin. All the other ones either smell good on the paper and bad on my skin or vice versa. (Of course I won't get any that smell bad on me but the ones that smell good on me don't blow me away on the paper, or really jump out at me like the 1 Million does). So I figure I'll start with that and then go from there.

I wore the shit out of this… in HS!

I just ordered a bottle of Le Male Elixir because it smells absolutely wonderful. The drydown is magic and the projection is great. It'll last for 10+ hours easy. I'm also thinking about grabbing a bottle of Le Male Le Parfum. The initial scent from that one is unique and very nice. The only downside is they're quite expensive. I might hold off before buying more after that, but I think Armani Code Parum might be my next one in 6-9 months. It has a really nice powdery drydown that's very pleasant, and although it's not super strong, you get little whiffs of it throughout the day.

The unfortunate thing is, I believe these are all fall/winter scents. I seem to like the stronger stuff generally over the lighter EDT stuff. But then what the hell am I going to wear in the summer? A lot of the traditional summer stuff I've smelled I haven't loved. Though, Acqua Di Gio was pretty good. It had a nice citrusy freshness to it. I might grab some of that down the road.

I'd love to try Creed Aventus someday, and a few of its flankers. $500 a pop, but it has the incredible reputation of being the pinnacle of men's fragrance.

Looking for a men's fragrance. I know that Johnny Depp Sauvage Elixir is all the rage now but there's a dude at work who bathes in it every day so I want something different. Whats your go to mildly or actually expensive cologne?
I just sampled Sauvage Elixir the other day, and holy hell, that stuff smells like shit. It's like gas mixed with old folks home. I made the mistake of putting three sprays on my wrist to see how it would turn out, and man, within about two minutes I had to excuse myself from the counter and run to the bathroom to wash it off. I must have spent a solid 5 straight minutes scrubbing and rising with soap and water, over and over and over. And my wrist still stunk afterward. I went back to the counter and sprayed a much more pleasant cologne over it to cover it up, and it mostly did. Thank god. Shit is nasty.

Some of the other Sauvages actually smell pretty good though.

Yeah, its above my paygrade unfortunately, Creed.

There's been some studies showing that scent is a big part of attraction for women, but here we're talking about natural scent. The researchers mentioned that cologne and perfume could interfere with the attraction process since you can no longer smell the other party's normal scent, and also that paradoxically being clean all the time interferes. Meaning it's easier for a woman to get a whiff if you're all sweaty + not wearing cologne. It's something about genetic and immune system compatibility. If you're perceived as smelling "good" that means you're a good match, i.e. you would make strong children together. Anyway, something to keep in mind.

For men it didn't work like that by the way. Attraction to scent was all about correlations to fertility and time in the cycle (fertile or not). Meaning men were more or less all attracted to the same women in an undiscriminating manner, e.g. young, healthy and in the fertile time of the month would be the max attractiveness. So for women it could be worth it to wear perfume just to stand out, but I'm not sure if there were studies on that.

I don't like to go heavy with cologne. Generally a citrus smell is nice. "Weleda" citrus deodorant is what I use, and if I'm going out I'll go a little heavier. We smell like we do for a reason. Don't cage the beast, Sherbros.

I have the Le Male edt and like it a lot. I don't know what to make of Le Beau edt.

Yeah. I have Sauvage edp and did not like it. Now I like it (during winter). A dab'll do ya.

Got few but nothing can beat this beast. Never had so many compliments from women with any other.

Some say Dior Sauvage is the new beast in town but to me it smells like cheap shaving foam.

This is the one I'm still rocking and I still love it. I'm about halfway through my 200ml bottle. And it's been almost two years since I bought it.
Here’s some advice for you guys spending over a hundred dollars for oud based colognes. Go to any Arab cologne store and purchase something similar for a third of the price. They’re basically copies and they charge you triple.
No arab stores near me. But I've tried clones before and although some come close, they never smell quite right. The name brand ones that I've tried (versus the clones) are always much better and last much longer. I'm fine paying more for quality. I know some of the arab ones are ultra strong, but I don't think I need something that strong. I'm not looking to project 200 feet.

IDK. I've smelled some nice ass perfume on women before and that can be incredibly attractive and interesting and exciting. I can't really think of a time where I smelled a natural body smell that grabbed my attention in the same way.

I think it was the Le Male EDT I tried and I didn't really care for it all that much. It wasn't bad, it just didn't grab me. Le Parfum and Elixir both grabbed me. That's typically what I look for when buying cologne. Does it smell good to me, and does it grab (where I'm like "Oh wow")

Le male elixir is an absolute stunner, very powdery winter fragrance. Compliment getter people like @Contempt like those kind of fragrances on men....

No you’ve misunderstood me. The expensive ones ala Tom Ford oud based colognes are clones of original Arab fragrances. Tom Ford is charging you an arm and a leg when you could pick up something similar from an Arab fragrance store.

have relied on my natural pheronomes for many years now. why cloak them?

women have always seemed to respond favorably.

Oh I see. Tom Ford isn't really on my radar. If there was some to sample, I would. But none of the stores around me carry it. Plus, there's a few others I'm looking to get right now and so I wouldn't have the budget for it anyway. Not for a long while.
