I think the problem is though that a lot of Bernie's appeal is that he has a credible record going back decades.

When it comes to pushing a progressive candidate I think credibility really matters, people are wary of some unproven new face who talks big but they just ends up as another establishment stooge.

You could argue I spose even if he ran it would definitely help having a very strong running mate given that he would almost certainly be a one term president at most.

I admit I'm not sure I trust AOC in that regard, some stuff sounds good but she seemed to follow Biden rather too easily, not sure she won't be another establishment Dem when the pressure is really on.

Maybe its a vain hope but perhaps the Dem's will realise now that they actually need to get behind some progressive politics even if its for selfish reasons of the donner class, not doing so is just leading the US on an obviously downward spiral with the popularist right taking the anti establishment vote.

Even if the Dems were to win in 2028 with another Biden like candidate on the back of likely Trump incompetence then most likely it will be another popularist crazy republican inline for 2032 when anti establishment feeling is dominant again and the Dems are offering more of the same.

Bernie is 195 years old, not sure that AOC would nor that I fully trust her, however their rallies are drawing insane crowds. They outta try going and talking to black majority districts though.

I'm sure every Republican/conservative who sees this thread is going to tell us all that the Democrats need to run a Republican to win even though the Democratic base is tired of the choice being a (D) Republican and an actual Republican and actual Republicans just vote for actual Republicans and the Democratic base doesn't show out for (D) Republicans. That said, who knows, after Trump a dead poodle might be able to win against whatever ghoul the GOP rolls out in 2028.

They are starting very early and gaining massive grounds trying to attract Independents and Republicans over to their side. I know there has been several polling done that shows these 2 would have won in a landslide if they ran against Trump in 2024.
