Benson Henderson: "Mackenzie Dern Will Be Bigger Than Ronda Rousey"

Can she take down her opponents and finish them under a minute?
It doesn't matter if she's better than Ronda...being good doesn't cut it in the eye of the casuals.

It certainly doesn't cut it in the eyes of the 'educated' fans, either

I kind of agree but kind of not. Strikeforce wasn't mainstream, but a dominant, good looking female pushed WMMA into a money making venture. This could happen with a girl like her or shevenko, especially if they could land a network deal.

This. Bellator needs to get on the damn women divisions. They have the opportunity to sign name girls from the UFC that would rather fight at fly or feather weight at a discount.

Do you realize that Coker started the women's featherweight division in Aug 2014? Two years later and it has been a massive flop. The flyweights that Coker has brought in are low ranking neophytes who were signed based on their looks. Like most things in MMA, Coker is 5 years behind the curve now. UFC, thanks to Shannon Knapp and Ronda, jumped on womens's MMA and has a stranglehold on it. The best flyweights fight at 115 or 135 cause they want to be in UFC. And when UFC starts a 125 division in 6-12 months, they will all run there. Women in Bellator has been a flop and will continue to be like most things there.

Honestly, I think Coker only brought the women back cause he really wanted to setup another Cyborg vs. Carano fight and the 145 division was just the backdrop for it. But once that fell through, there wasn't much point to give a platform for the likes of Julia Budd and an aging Marloes Coenen.

Bellator's audience is a hardcore UFC audience. It is not casuals. And that hardcore audience does not watch Bellator for low level women's MMA. Which is what they have.

Damn it Coker! Coenen v Dufrense 2! A ready to go storyline with two top level fighters (one of whom has name power and is decent looking)! Slap on a title belt and there you go. Come the hell on!

Bigger?

I mean... in what way?

<seedat>

Bigger ass that's for sure
