Benson handily beat Frankie both times and Frankie was gifted a decision over BJ

why make threads like this? we already know, everyone sucks except my favorite fighters and there's literally nothing you can say to change mind. that's the story of almost every edgelord poster and there's no reason to really conversate because this person isn't even asking to debate they're just making statements. i don't even know what they're looking for here. people to agree? engagement? boredom? who knows.

It is attention-seeking behaviour.

I never enjoyed watching Frankie fight.

I started watching MMA when he fought Benson the 1st time. I guess I missed out the Maynard fights.

Dude was super small and still was competitive. Gotta give that to him. That and also derailing 2 overhyped fighters in BabyJay and Yair.

He also thought he won the first Aldo fight.. which was competitive but a clear L for him.

His lowlight reel at the end of his career was pretty epic.

The second fight was much closer, but the first fight was a straight ass whooping by Benson. Frankie got nearly KO'd in the first and at best he won 1 round. He then through up his hands and cried like he was robbed and he because he is Italian he got another shot. I will admit the second fight was closer, but it was a pretty unremarkable fight. Frankie fought like a coward both times and was content to try to win fights on points, because he knew that if he didn't fight like a coward, he wouldn't be able to hang with the size difference of the bigger fighters. The idea that he landed more damage in either fight is just a bullshit myth that people like to repeat because they disliked Benson for his quirkyness. Frankie could land 5 punches, and it wouldn't match one strike from Benson solely from the size difference.

Frankie was infinitely more boring than Benson. Benson beat him twice fair and square and Frankie's fans need to shut the fuck up and quit crying about it over a decade later.

Frankie lost to BJ the first time as well. They wanted him to be champ so bad so they gave him so many unwarranted title shots. Thank god his pillow ass never won a title at 145 or 135. P4P one of the most boring and worst champions ever at 155.

Frankie is famous for two things, getting knocked the fuck out, and rarely stopping anyone. Supremely over rated fighter.
How is a guy that is much smaller by your own admission a coward? I would say you might be a bit cowardly posting this on a forum in anonymity. Why don't you go to New Jersey and sign up for some MMA classes. Tell Frankie to his face while on the mats rolling with him?

Here is the contact info so you have no excuses.

I thought Frankie pretty clearly won the rematch. First fight I gave Bendo slightly because Frankie walked into that vicious upkick at the end of the 2nd round, which won Bendo the round and the fight in my view

BJ and Frankie both deserve a loss on their record for that staring competition sparing match they had at UFC 112. Both showed no initiative and were banking on the judges scoring the rounds based off what, 2 or 3 more landed jabs?

I thought he should've won Bendo 2. It could've gone either way, but I thought he won. And I thought BJ won their first fight. That was one where I couldn't believe my ears.

Obvious bait, biting anyways:

First fight with Benson could've gone either way.
Second fight was one of the worst robberies of all time & of memory serves not one single media outlet gave it to Benson.
The BJ fights were always bizarre to me; I didn't realize people complained about the decision until years later, I had remembered when seeing it live thinking it was easy to see Frankie won. BJ didn't even complain at the time when the decision was read, the look on his face before the scorecard was read he already knew. Anyways, re watched it semi recently & scored it 50-45 Frankie, exact same as their second fight. Not really sure what anyone was complaining about in that one.

I've always found the reaction to the first Penn fight bizarre. I watched it live with a group of friends and we all had Frankie winning handidly.

I thought BJ won the first Edgar fight, but very close not a robbery. The second fight with bendo was super close as well.

This is some dumb shit.

Frankie fought like a coward by fighting guys 30 lbs heavier than him? lol ok.

First Benson fight was clear victory for Benson. I don’t even remember that many people complaining about the decision. Second fight was close, at the time I thought Frankie won - so did many others.

But you’re acting like Frankie had this huge influential fan base that influenced the UFCs decision making when in reality Frankie was a liked champion but far from the most popular fighter or even the most popular lightweight at the time. I respect the hell out of Frankie Edgar, I don’t understand how anyone can’t. It sounds to me like you’re a BJ Penn fan and you’re crying about the same shit you’re accusing the Frankie fans of lol.

there is still hope for you TS
