Eh BJ started in the early 00s though. Realistically he was always going to be out of prime by the time guys like khabib came along.Bj vs benson
Bj vs pettis
Bj vs rda
Bj vs Connor

I know how that goesI can't remember last week
The UFC was conspiring to take the belt off of an exciting fighter that had P4P hype and had headlined their biggest PPVs for Frankie Edgar, who had barely been promoted and was a point fighter. This is some dumb shit.
Frankie fought like a coward by fighting guys 30 lbs heavier than him? lol ok.
First Benson fight was clear victory for Benson. I don’t even remember that many people complaining about the decision. Second fight was close, at the time I thought Frankie won - so did many others.
But you’re acting like Frankie had this huge influential fan base that influenced the UFCs decision making when in reality Frankie was a liked champion but far from the most popular fighter or even the most popular lightweight at the time. I respect the hell out of Frankie Edgar, I don’t understand how anyone can’t. It sounds to me like you’re a BJ Penn fan and you’re crying about the same shit you’re accusing the Frankie fans of lol.
First fight against Bendo was a coin flip. I leaned towards Frankie.
Rematch was 100% Frankie. Straight Robbery

TS is a troll
His decline was quick. After the nick diaz fight he fell off bad. After that Rory brutalized him. I think if he stayed at lw and didn't take all that damage his career could have ended better.Eh BJ started in the early 00s though. The Frankie and Bendo title reigns were a very meh time for the LWs.

A lot of guys decline sharply once it really starts but I did hate that decision to stay at ww after he lost the lw belt. I felt the same way at the time, that he was wasting his time and taking a lot of unnecessary damage and for what? He wasn't getting a third shot at gsp.His decline was quick. He seemed just mentally shot after the Frankie fights. So he just fought at ww where he wouldn't have to cut weight or go through tough camps. Even if he had stayed at lw I'm not sure it would have went well if he was as unmotivated as he was at ww.
he would have been a tough gatekeeper at lw. Who would have thought he'd lose his last fight against clay guida?A lot of guys decline sharply once it really starts but I did hate that decision to stay at ww after he lost the lw belt. After the third Frankie fight it was obvious to me he had nothing left. I expected him to lose all those fights and he did. It was sad to watch tbh.he would have been a tough gatekeeper at lw. Who would have thought he'd lose his last fight against clay guida?

Logging back in for the first time in years to say lol for one, but also that I agree 100% about him losing the first BJ fight. The second fight was much closer, but the first fight was a straight ass whooping by Benson. Frankie got nearly KO'd in the first and at best he won 1 round. He then through up his hands and cried like he was robbed and he because he is Italian he got another shot. I will admit the second fight was closer, but it was a pretty unremarkable fight. Frankie fought like a coward both times and was content to try to win fights on points, because he knew that if he didn't fight like a coward, he wouldn't be able to hang with the size difference of the bigger fighters. The idea that he landed more damage in either fight is just a bullshit myth that people like to repeat because they disliked Benson for his quirkyness. Frankie could land 5 punches, and it wouldn't match one strike from Benson solely from the size difference.
Frankie was infinitely more boring than Benson. Benson beat him twice fair and square and Frankie's fans need to shut the fuck up and quit crying about it over a decade later.
Frankie lost to BJ the first time as well. They wanted him to be champ so bad so they gave him so many unwarranted title shots. Thank god his pillow ass never won a title at 145 or 135. P4P one of the most boring and worst champions ever at 155.
Frankie is famous for two things, getting knocked the fuck out, and rarely stopping anyone. Supremely over rated fighter.
