The Masvidal loss was really bad, but Askren absolutely had to win that Maia fight. That loss was what truly ended his career.

Hell of a career for a guy with a boring fighting style and that was never UFC gold material.

Made lots of money, won belts in other organizations, created a lot of buzz for himself. Even if he didn't have success in the UFC the guy reached a level of popularity and financial success a lot of fighters never do.

That's a pretty damn good career if ya ask me.
