Bellator tried to book an 0-12 amateur on Bellator 215 & AC denied them.

Professional losers are a part of combat sports. How many boxers out there that are 12-57? Some people are good at collecting checks for losing. This was a stupid call by the comission, unless the fighter in question gets brutally knocked out every time or something like that.

Yeah that may be, but being a "professional loser" as an amateur? Going 0 - 12 as an amateur should make it impossible to turn pro.

If you can't win an amateur bout you should not get a license to be a pro

Bellator gonna Bellator. Gotta make sure the new pretty face has a can to crush on her debut so she looks good.
Guess they can't fix fights, but with matchmaking like this they might as well be.

Literally every professional fighting promotion does this even UFC to some extent.

To be honest, I don’t really see a problem with this fight. The girl with the losing record has only like one TKO loss, and the TKD girl has never finished an amateur fight; she also has a decision loss. What’s the AC afraid of?

Exactly. Two fighters making their pro debuts. Neither was particularly good as an amateur, with one going 0-12 and the other 2-1. Mismatch? Somewhat, but far less so than what you see with boxing prospects and occasionally in the UFC.

What's very telling is how the shameless UFC shill Jordan Breen screamed and ranted about it on the Sherdog front page. Meanwhile, complete silence or damage control when it comes Colby Covington being screwed by Dana and WME, a far more egregious, pertinent issue.

This isn't some conspiracy theory either, as Sherdog now openly advertises subscriptions to ESPN+ to watch UFC cards, yet does no such thing for DAZN.

So? They’re trying to build a future star. . That’s what you do in prizefighting.
You don’t go straight for the best or even a
Competitive fight out of the gate.

You give confidence building opponentsand slowly step it up.
And Neither are used
To fighting on a big stage or any stage at all.

That’s how you build a
Prospect and get their name out their at the beginning of their career.
At least she has 12 fights as amateur.
The other girl is 2-1

It’s pretty bizarre saying this on a forum solely dedicated to fighting.

The most appalling thing is having women’s fights on the same broadcast as men.

While I don’t agree with this particular booking, I definitely agree with you on people expecting to be killers and face other killers right out of the gate.

Then again, Bellator should have any fighters make their pro debut on their stage, whether it’s Valerie Loureda, Aaron Pico, or Ed Ruth.

If you watch one of her fights, you'll see she isn't without skill. I am by no means suggesting she's good or anything but she's certainly not a helpless lamb in there.

You're typing words from a keyboard thinking you're10 feet tall and 600 pounds and actually believing you're tough.

Looks like you've met your match.

I only feel 8 feet tall but my arms feel 2 miles wide when I talk shit online.

I hear what you’re saying. But I think it’s ok to have really hot prospects on television or even Bellator right
Off the bat.

The ufc makes
People think that every fighter on the roster is the elite of the elite and that’s not the case.

It’s a good thing to build up these prospects oin the same card as top fighters.
They get more eyes on them.

I don’t really understand the problem
With a supposed great prospect being on a televised show in a big org.

Boxing has always done this with exciting young amateurs or medal winning fighters.

I have never seen Valerie
Fight. I’m not looking forward to watching her fight. But I think it’s fine for Bellator for her to slaughter a can for her pro debut.

There are more male stars, if you want to build a star it makes sense to dump her on there with the big name men.
