News Bellator sale talks heating up

interesting article hypothesizing that the Hangup could be the Saudi investment into PFL

Thanks for sharing, very good article.

I could see Coker and Sak. coming together with some form of Rizin USA org. staging "x" amounts of events a year in the US and to try to help get US media deal of some sort with basically Coker being in charger of the North American market. Unless Coker is just ready to retire at this point(he is over 60 and this sport isn't easy on people) and maybe just be a consultant or something with some of these orgs like Rizin or BKFC.

In my mind best case scenario is Coker finds investors who will purchase and let him take full control of company. Find a new tv deal and merge Bellator & Rizin

I think RIZIN is fine as it is, it's popular in Japan and these expansion projects usually end up in disaster

I just don’t see it happening. Any investor can take a look at Bellator’s history and see that it’s just been a complete mess of a promotion.

I think most people at this point see the UFC
as MMA and aren’t willing to invest in a company that is never going to surpass them.

another promotion for coker to put out of business?

Forget about boxing and bellator. Paramount is shutting down showtime itself and just absorbing the pieces that are left.

why would they continue running bellator? makes no sense. having 2 weaker promotions splitting the brand focus versus merging them and making a stronger promotion focused on one brand.

if they do this it would be the dumbest thing ever.

I guess so they can slowly absorb people into the PFL brand while honouring the Bellator contracts and not serving up a buffet of fighters for the UFC to choose from

that would be the only explanation. If bellator contracts dont automatically transfer over then this would make sense. The other reason could be the international tv deals. PFL could want to keep those and transfer or upgrade theirs which could take time.
