It’s interesting to see the difference in thoughts about Belal between the MMA & UFC subreddits and Sherdog.

Reddit seems to love Belal after he beat Wonderboy. But Sherdog seems to not of changed its opinion that much.
 
I'm not a fan of fighters that can be in dominate positions and have no desire to finish the fight.

That's why everybody will eventually forget his name.
 
I have a certain regard for grinders in this sport, I respect a guy who may be outgunned but just stays in his opponent's face.
I do find it interesting that so many posters here lambast fighters for not promoting themselves, then other fighters get lambasted for trying to promote themselves.
 
He fights smart and doesn't take much damage. Can't blame him
 
Not some huge fan of Belal but the hate he gets cracks me up. Maybe the guy should put on some weird act and duck contenders like a certain other boring ass WW.

The knowledge and discussion level on Reddit is mostly new fans or people new to the sport.
 
People calling him a mid tier fighter after he dominated Wonderboy from bell to bell? The fuck? Blind hatred. 6 months ago Thompson was gonna beat Usman, now you destroy him and you're mediocre.

It's so sad to see MMA fans who pretend to enjoy two men cuddling for 3-5 rounds because they think it makes them look like they have a deeper understanding/appreciation for MMA.

This isn't art house cinema or obscure literature, where you're going to get "cool points" from hipster chicks for sitting through Persona. This is human cockfighting. This is a spectacle. Nobody cares. You just look like a dork.
