Belal looked average

He's tactical and strong as an ox. Just hesitant to go for broke which is ok when you're ahead...
Yeah idk why people expected him to take risks and get himself potentially injured or even KO'd when coming off the couch to put a stamp on his "no top 5 wins" resume.

I find Belal boring, even after the Brady fight, but he's an excellent tactician. Colby hasn't finished anybody besides dead log Woodley even when he completely outmatched them skill wise. I don't think he even attempted a sub when outgrappling old Lawler who got choked by Ben fucking Askren

Comprehensively shutting out burns is somehow unimpressive?

The guy looked strong, steady and unfazed.

Belal is right, you boys are just salty haters by this point haha

If you really looked, you could see that Belal was the larger man by far. It looked like a rat against a mouse.

Burns needs to cut weight and get back down to lightweight.

Belal looked solid, but absolutely unimpressive.

Average in every department is exactly what he looked like. Belal literally excels at nothing, not striking, not submissions.

He's game, and he tries hard, but he will never be an Anderson Silva at striking or a Khabib at grappling. Nothing wrong with being an average fighter, but there's nothing very inspiring about it either.

He looked pretty good for a guy on no training camp coming off a period of time of less than ideal circumstances for nutrition intake. And who people said had a bad wheel based on pictures coming into it.

<WellThere>

Slow, plodding and no power.

Couldn't finish a one armed opponent...
I couldn't agree more.

He's a good dude but like Fitch and other talented but boring AF fighters, he will struggle to make waves. He lacks stoppages be it subs or kos.thst said, these 5rds will leave him open to taking a ko or damage. Not a fan. He's like watching paint dry. He is dominant in a way that's more boring then snoozeman and crotch sniffing. That's saying something.

The line moved to +125 Belal because people found out he was injured preflight, and now the story is Gilbert was hurt.

Belal should have turned the pace up a little, but he won the fight. How many times have we seen Colby and Usman wrestle and never go for subs or TKO via GNP? Revisionist history this division. I swear.

He is definitely not a top 5 fighter in this division. Burns made a mistake by jumping into this fight as he could have just waited out his way into the title shot.

Burns made the mistake and not Belal. Right. Lol he has beaten 3 top 5 fighters. You know that right?

Well actually I'll protest. (devils advocate)

his switching of the stance made him hard to hit cleanly, So defensively he looked good. His left body kick like you mentioned was on point. His cardio looked good over 5 rounds also.

With all that said, I'd WAY rather see colby fight leon as i think Leon will beat belal easy. I think colby is a much better contender than either burns or belal.

I think Belal loses to Edward's too, but he would beat Colby. I'd love to see it. I kind of hope Edward's just takes time off and they mKe the interim fight.

Top 5 is:

Edwards (who dominated Belal for as little as it lasted)
Usman
Covington
Khamzat
Burns

He got a decision against Burns, who fought 3 weeks ago and was fighting with one arm. Burns could have absolutely sat out and he would have gotten the title shot unless Belal managed to fight and beat Shavkat or Usman.

Gilbert made a bad call but all respect to him. Belal will be a massive betting underdog against whomever holds the title.

Belal can grind out fringe top ten guys but I can’t favor him against any top 5er with two functional arms. He looked like he didn’t belong in there with Edwards and who here actually thinks that he beats a healthy Burns, Usman, Colbie, Shavkat?

Beat a top 5 with body kicks tonight. Finished a top 10 undefeated guy with punches prior. Wrestlefucked 2 top 5's before that.

But he looks average

Luque and Wonderboy were borh top 5

i think he beats all 4 you named

He doesn't have a dominant style. It is effective though and he makes other people look bad due to pressure and cardio.

It's not a fan friendly style, but he is very good.
