It's comfortable, doesn't slip too much and is fairly well made though stitching is a little off in spots. Really like the materials. Protective.

Unfortunately the vision just isn't good enough for me. Switching back to an AIBA headguard, and selling the Beaulieu one.

Did you end up getting offered any post-sale discount or anything? How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
 
I'm not sure how to respond. It's bad enough that I don't like using it. During some rounds I won't notice it, and then during others I do especially when on the inside. I'd rather have something I won't notice is on my head.

I understand. You don't think it could be because you're already used to sparring in competition open face headgear?
 
Sure, I'm not saying that isn't the case, I'm just saying what this headguard was like for me personally. Someone else might use it and think it's fine.
 
For someone looking to try Bill's work at a one time deal, I came across a new white and golden pair on Ebay for $85! The ebayer is bjl3447. Same guy is selling a bunch of other stuff cheap!

I would get these gloves, If I did not already have 2 pairs :-)

If you're looking for protex 3's make sure you get the gel version. Great glove, I'm really not sure how to rank this glove, but it's on par with a lot of high quality gloves like Reyes for example. Great thumb positioning, identical to winnings thumb positioning. Overall great glove, wait for them to drop on sale off the everlast sight.

Update: My 18oz sparring gloves are holding up very well. The cuffed wrist is amazing and the padding broke in really nicely. Love the gloves.
 
Same here man, people ask me all the time where they can get a pair. So hopefully bill is getting more business!

BTW, you don't set the price or the brands' strategy, how can you speak for the company?
As a contractor you should answer questions specific to the manufacture, the materials, etc.

FWIW, Bill is a great guy to deal with and the gear is high quality...

Had gear made by the late Dan Mosby, the nephew of RAY FLORES, famous "old school" hair padded glove maker from California during the 50's and 60's.

Learned glove making along withal boxing gear from Mr. Al Zimmer, the once owner of SPARTAN boxing equipment, Brooklyn, NY.

When all the leather tanneries in New England closed down, we were forced to travel to NYC on a Sunday to leather jobbers to buy leather, a 500 mile round trip. This is why we ceased making our own back in the 80's and moved on to the private label manufacture.

The patented leather looks sweet on the cuff of the red and blacks. Also interesting Bill did split thumb?! Hmm, I guess he does offer it after all.

Red/black/white you can never go wrong. Those colors look amazing together.
 
I wish I could afford a pair of these right now. They look amazing. Maybe I'll find a suga mama.....
