Exactly. Charging big money (big %) for metallic is typical for Grant, for nobody else.

But you know there is something positive now... Bill at least now openly declares how much each option costs insted of "We have metallic colours, email us for prices." Finally, after we told him 10000000000 times to do it in this way.

This is true! Now all he needs to do is drop that price about $30-40!

I mean lets be real, I got hybrid metallic purple classics for like $160 Juan literally only charged me an extra $10 for a color that he got because I didn't like the normal purple they had. No way is $50 acceptable, unless like you said his base price was $100.

Reminds me of the time I wanted to place an order with Shevlin. They wanted to charge me an outrageous premium for gold piping. I can't recall, but it was like $30-50.00. At the time, I just finished buying 24 sq. feet of gold leather for about $60.00. The piping would have been 1/2 foot of leather. Go figure.

I guess for the average uneducated consumer you could get away with charging a premium for a product and not have anyone second guess your pricing. When it comes down to it, it's like goldennboy said. He could charge that premium because who else is doing this stuff.

Great points Dan!

Also, guys, what do you think about these particular metallic sheets comparing to Grant?

12 oz Pro Lace up Training Gloves with Crocodile Patent trim on the cuff, palm, and thumb would run $599.99 with a custom color as a base. This price excludes a metallic or neon base.

I emailed Grant & this is what I got, total joke. I just wanted to see how messed up they were, but god, this is theft. Can they be sued for making over a certain percent of profit?

Notice how he said price excludes metalic & neon based colors too.

It'd run up to prob $1000 with shipping if you wanted a bigger ounce glove.

Elvis is a sort of a business genius. When his gloves (of a better quality the now) used to coat about 100 bucks not many wanted them saying "I rather get Reyes", then he started donating to an every single champion and sponsoting them and now people are paying 1000 for his shitty gloves of some fancy colours. OMG 4x more for a pair of Grant custom colours gloves than for a pair of superb Winning standard colour gloves while Grant custom gloves actually cost less to make than a pair of Winning standard colour gloves. Please kill me.

Ya I emailed grant also. $799 for full metallic 16oz. I asked them if they were high. They haven't responded.

Well Grant's plan was genius, people think whatever a top fighter uses turns into gold. Heck I even bought a copy of what Canelo was using and I don't usually use green and black together.

Not a lot of people are gear savy and know about Bill or the other Mexican brands or else Grant wouldn't be getting much business.

Dear sweet baby jesus, $800.00 for fully metallic? They seem to raise their prices all the time, that's just crazy. If you all you want is Mexican style ,custom colors, boxing classics is perfect for that and fair pricing. There is no reason to buy grant. They do have orthopedic gloves, o wait, so does bill and top boxer at much lower cost. Suffice to say there is no good reason to buy grants lol

Buy a pair of grant ortho gloves and a pair of winning gloves and look at them side by side after two years of use. Winning will be marginally worn, grants will be destroyed. What a joke.

I think Bill more or less loves grants so much because they are visually pleasing and are pretty looking. As far as a long term training, I don't think he considers that, because, if he did, grant would fall flat on their faces.

consider the story of the person who bought a pair of green ones and they got destroyed in 4 months at a cost of $400. It's hard to argue with that. all this person did was train with them.

its understandable, they make gorgeous looking gloves, and have the most custom options. I like their page on facebook just so I could see their awesome designs. But no gloves is worth $800. I even find it hard to justify the $350 Winning is charging and they are the best around.

If you're talking about me, or I may be mistaken, I know Grant and have for many years, but would never condone any glove costing $500.00 +, let alone $800.00.

All must realize that I DO NOT SET THE PRICES, but rather that's the price needed to purchase the metallic from the tannery in Pakistan..............Ask Topboxer11 (Muhammad). Everybody wants, we get it, then you complain. Can't win.

$350 is for custom winning, you can get the regular colors for $230 now.

Totally reasonable price imo Which I can hardly say about 200 bucks metallic...

Btw so it costs in Pakistan 50 dollars more to buy a sheet of metallic colour leather for one pair of gloves comparing to the same sheet of a usual (non-metallic) colour? A kinda expensive country...

Oh snap, did not know that! That's fucking cheap for winnings! And I agree with shihtzu, there is no way that each sheet of metallic is costing so much that you need to charge $50 more per pair.

Nooo Bill. They're talking about Grants metallic colors. The price they have on it is insane

Yes and no. Grants metallic prices are insane. But we are talking about Bill's prices for metallics also. He states that he HAS to charge $50 more per pair of gloves because the leather apparently is so expensive. Even though in reality he's probably picking up a huge sheet of leather for like $60. So the fact of the matter is, its ridiculous that I could have a pair of gloves made that use a few feet of leather and be charged just about the same price he pays for a whole sheet!

And like a couple of us said, we understand that you need to charge more, and a $15-20 increase wouldn't be to bad. But considering his gloves are already $150, $200 for a pair of gloves that isn't Winning is crazy.

hi folks , let me clear some things here.
firstly the metalic leather costs double the cost of regular cowhide ,so if we base the price of the gloves on the price of the leather then it should have been increased to double to what we call base price , but since it has gone up only $50 you guys can imagine that our profit margin remains same THERE IS SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY IN METALIC COLOR GLOVES AS THERE IS IN REGULAR GLOVES.
we got it arranged because it was wanted by many here.the increase in price hardly covers the cost of it.
plus in metalic leather the wastage during making a pair is 2 times more then regular cow hide because the metalic foil is not evenly applied on leather and we have to cut the only best parts of the leather and remaining faded or less lustrous parts go to wastage.
while in regular leather the colors are made using pigments which are evenly distributed on leather sheet.
we try to make best of the best for you guys and will keep doing so , but pleas consider the fact that somethings costs more then the others.
thanks for your support and appreciation of our work.

I've told all THAT I DO NOT SET PRICING..............Hope Topboxer11 (Muhammad's ) reply explains all. Again, thank you that support our efforts.
