I guess we will see if they continue to post his vids knowing that he was a human trafficker
I'm sure they will. Unless some huge stink is started up about him in some way impacting Youtube's bottom line there is no reason for them to bother censoring him. Also, there are probably plenty of those on the team that would be in charge of censoring that likely agree with his views so once again...why bother.

He is a Youtube personality who has commentary on a variety of political and social issues from an ultimately Lefty perspective.

I guess my real question is why should we care what he thinks, what does he bring to the table beyond the gimmick of being lefty while looking like a redneck

Nothing really. In that, he really is no different than any other talking bobblehead who's opinions others listen to for any number of reasons. Its really no different than anyone listening to and forming opinions based on conversations on a Joe Rogan podcast.

People tend to gravitate to those that share their views and in some fashion provide a feeling of validation of their particular biases. Those that can do so in some form of intelligent or pseudo-intelligent manner even more so. Although, one really can't ignore that some people are looking for that "ordinary joe" opinion off the street which are often uninformed.

What the feck is this thread?? I miss not knowing about Jack Murphy the Gigachad. :(

We do, I honestly forget that is not a universal saying haha. We do also say pop instead of soda and call Kroger, “Krogers”.

But yeah, I pretty much spent all my life in Michigan, most of my mom’s side is from the south and my dad’s from india so there is a whole bunch of accents everywhere in family.
That's funny. Another one is calling a pizza a "pie", right? My college roommate was from the Midwest, and the first night he asked me if I wanted to go "halfsies on a pie". I had no idea what that meant, but didn't want to upset him the first night, so we ended up ordering half pepperoni and half pumpkin.

Good, we are on the same page here.

Sure, bad people can make good points, yes.

You lost the plot completely when you used a slur....You can’t really dispute if people are open minded or not when you do that. I have a fair share of disagreements with Terrapin but the dude is undoubtedly on the left.
Well.... you SAY that, but I find that when you are dealing with a disingenuous troll, it's best to make clear that the discussion is at an end.

he apparently makes a living grifting lefties and trafficking humans.

So, "paying your debt to society" is no longer sufficient for people?

That's why I refuse to sing along to Amazing Grace.

How can we amplify the voice of a former slave trader just because he felt really guilty about it and spent the second half of his life trying to make amends?

I don't care about youtube political commentators at all in terms of their product.
I'm mildly interested in how exactly this guy managed to go from (supposedly) some sort of military contracting, to human trafficking of hotel cleaners, then some sort of activism (talking about his coverage of anonymous, now defunct Solutions Institute "activist consulting" and presence as a speaker at some events 8+ years ago). Facebook "journalism" (and involvement with Mint Press). Then producing surprisingly popular political commentary for reasonable money on youtube in a relatively short amount of time, with only his invented "Beau" character as a point of distinction.
