Crime Office that combats human trafficking gutted by Trump

Its not a problem exclusive to any one admin. It didn't suddenly become an issue when Trump was elected.
Yeah, but predictably the post he's replying to literally said "when under Biden". Because of course we have to reference Biden. It's hard to take an argument on good faith whenever the only criticism from the right is about Biden.

Founded in 2020 by Emily Ramshaw and Amanda Zamora, The 19th News is a nonprofit organization and website that serves women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community. According to their about page they state “We’re an independent, nonprofit newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy.”

Yep. This source is completely unbiased.

Demographic is on brand 100%

It isn’t a reference to Biden, it is a reference to completely failing at their mission for 4 years and based on that, should be cut because it is a waste of funding

Yeah instead of making it better let's make it even worse.

But but but biden!!!

Explain of this makes it worse. In detail not any cuts ate bad cuts. Do you know if the cuts were because they were not producing any help and the money can be spent elsewhere and ne more effective. I dont have the details on why and what but if you do by allmeans share with everyone.

I didn’t reference Biden tho. I referenced the time under Biden. Thus the “when under”

Why don’t you guys want to talk about what this agency did for the last 4 years? Oh yea, because you guys only want to make it about Trump, not the actual office

I'm wondering why I can't really find much more info on this anywhere else.
I put "Trump human trafficking agency 2025" into search engine. Here's what the AI generated response is, I'll list the sources below:

Trump Human Trafficking Agency 2025

  • Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (TIP Office): This State Department office, responsible for coordinating U.S. efforts to combat human trafficking globally, was effectively shut down in July 2025 as part of a major reduction in force that eliminated 1,353 positions, about 15% of the department's Washington-based staff. The TIP Office had operated for 25 years, producing annual reports on countries' anti-trafficking efforts and managing tens of millions in foreign aid programs, but its closure drew criticism for undermining bipartisan progress on the issue.
  • U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB): In March 2025, the Trump administration terminated 69 international programs run by ILAB aimed at combating child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking, cutting over $500 million in grants across 40 countries. These programs included initiatives to prevent child labor in agriculture and address abuses in supply chains, with officials citing a lack of alignment with national priorities.
  • White House Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking: Established by an executive order in January 2020, this position was intended to unify federal anti-trafficking efforts. However, by mid-2025, broader administration actions, including the dismantling of key offices and restrictions on discussing victims' identities, signaled a significant shift away from previous commitments, despite earlier rhetoric prioritizing the issue.

This one I'm not familiar with. It's back February. A lot has changed.

From back in March:

and now thousands more will go missing because of defunding.

it should be apolitical to be against human trafficking. but Dems and Repubs are both full of diddlers so they dont want the agency having too much power. Chomo-in-chief and Joe Sniffer have too many powerful friends that like diddling kids.

Check yourself clown...

Hundreds of thousands are not going missing because Cartel members aren't being allowed to bring minors through unmolested to be used as prostitutes.

How the fuck are you dipshits this stupid?

The Biden Admin lost track of hundreds of thousands minors after they were let through the border...

As in... They don't know where the fuck they went.

Comprendo compadre?

"Allowed"??? lmao
Cartel members were never "allowed" to do it, they just did it. thats how crime and criminals work.
and theyre still doing it now, albeit in lesser numbers.
the Trump administration did not stop human trafficking into America, it only slowed it. and not by much. shutting down an agency that helps to find victims is not a good thing.

do you comprende? i dont care about Biden or Trump, fuck both of those senile twats. i care that an agency that helped find trafficked kids had their budgets cut.

Disgusting. Gotta pay for those tax cuts to billionaires, amerite? But instead of acknowledging the fact that this was a bad move, you have the usual garbage defending or deflecting.

It was cut and yet in your own post you say service improved. I think you have no idea what you’re complaining about but were told to be mad about

Biden and the Democrats allowed 10's of thousands or 100's of thousands of children to disappear. The Democratic Party and their supporters have a lot to answer for child sex trafficking.

Now they want to blame Trump after what they did to all those children? Typical Left Cult.

But then why use his name if it has nothing to do with him? I don't know how long this has agency was around, but why not say "over the last 4, 9, 23 years"? I'm not even giving an opinion on this topic because I don't know anything about it. I'm just reading this thread and notice yet-a-fucking-gain more Trump good Biden bad. You say it's not about Biden, but that's a tough sell when his name is you're reference point is all I'm saying.

the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking got budget cut, but that organization is not Border Patrol. BP is also instrumental in intercepting human trafficking.
but BP is also an organization that is overloaded in terms of cases and lack of personnel, so shutting down an agency that could ostensibly help Border Patrol is stupid.

i think you have no idea what youre criticizing, and should probably read things two or three times before responding. sorry i dont give a shit about whatever diddler politician that youre a fan of.
