Battle of Burgers - Who does great beef burgers?

McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Five Guys, In and Out, Wendys, Taco Bell (???) local takeaway or your father.

I go with BURGER KING one and only WHOPPER

Good whopper as it comes in standard with lettuce, onion, tomato, ketchup and mayo.

But the burger itself its gorgeous, juicy and tasty, just the way I love it and it comes in decent size as well. Good grub for a right price. My all-day burger to go.

Whats yours?
 
Hardee's is pretty good, too.

I'd probably say Red Robin.
 
Burger King? Really?

I'm not even trying to be a food snob, but there's a million places that do burgers so much better.
 
There are a myriad of local places around the country that will put any franchise burger to shame.

For, well known national places, I love in n out, whataburger and S
smashburger.
 
If you're in the metro detroit area you can't go wrong with redcoat tavern best burger in detroit imo. As for fast food places idk I think wendys is the best.
 
5 Guys is pretty solid. Being in the Chicagoland area and having an abundance of places to eat at it took me a while to warm up to them, but they're quality.

I'll have to give some thought to the 'best' tho.
 
BK? Really? Against 5 Guys and In and Out. Hell, even Wendy's beats BK IMO.
That said, I can make a burger better than all of the above. It's not that hard really.
 
Big chains? Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendys, by far. I could live off of those things.

Smaller places? There is a shack in St. Cloud MN called Vals that makes a fucking amazing burger, a shame their fries are god awful.

My own burgers? Eh, so-so.

I like Burger King's and Hardee's/Carl's Jr. charbroil flavor that other joints don't have. I know that In-N-Out and Five Guys ranks highest among the chains, but I just don't agree with the hype.
 
Whataburger makes a pretty solid Patty melt imo

Every Whopper I've had looked like that or worse. Not to mention they fall apart as you eat them. I do have a craving for them sometimes though.
 
there i a place called VJs drive in in downtown winnipeg and the burgers there are ridiculously good. and a place on marion st. called johnnys with equally good burgers.
 
Out of the places you mentioned? Five Guys and In N Out and that shouldn't really be a debate. But almost every place has a hole in the wall burger place that makes way better burgers than any chain restaurant. Foster's Freeze isn't necessarily a hole in the wall and has multiple locations but their burgers are the shit.
 
For a fast food joint, Burger King does quite an impressive burger. Very few maggots and fingernails.

Frankie & Benny's restaurants do a top notch burger considering they're a chav magnet.
 
If we are talking about major fast food chains

The big mac is still my favorite

In n out is only westcoast tho so thats not really a major fast food chain
