People saying that batman murdering people isn't a big deal are wrong imo. It's been a primary part of the character for a long time now. It also doesn't make much sense that he had multiple villains that are mass murderers that he allows to live, but he murders their random henchman.

Who knows how many thousands of deaths Luthor was responsible for, then he has access to him in prison and just scares him a bit? Nonsensical.



People are used to a batman and superman that don't kill, that's where some of the backlash and criticism of the movies being overly gritty comes from.

I remember Batman killing a ninja back in the late 80's, although he stated that was an accident. I also seem to recall Batman fighting a bunch of criminals in a junk yard and knocking over a pile of cars on top of them. Again, that was an "accident". According to Bats.:)

And let's not forget the scene in All Star Batman where the Dark Knight burns alive several thugs and then nails Black Canary on the ground next to their smouldering corpses!

We leave the Masks on. That makes it better.:eek:
 
Preliminary totals from this weekend are...poor. Based on these numbers I predict a domestic total between $335-345mil. I doubt it will break the $1bil worldwide threshold.

Yeah, I had mentioned that previously. Theres been 80 years of stories, but the "No Kill" rule is the current popular take.

Every hero with a no kill rule has had a villain die fighting them in some goofy accident, that doesn't really break the no kill rule. I can remember several stories where someone wanted to kill the joker and he stopped them.


Now all star batman was a psycho, but that's alternate reality stuff. Pretty much every popular character has a psychotic alternate version so the writers can have some fun.
 
Twilight and Harry Potter has bigger weekend drop.
 
I just saw the movie. I take back everything bad I said about it.

Somehow Zack Snyder overcame about 98% of the things I don't like in his work. And there are a LOT of things I don't like in his work.

My criteria for superhero movies is: was I riveted when there are no superheroes on screen? And I was. I was genuinely invested in the characters, all of them, even Superman, who I've never gave a crap about before. Nor did he bore the fuck out of me with uninteresting action sequences, which is pretty rare for me to experience at action movies.

I've got a few complaints, but the long and the short of it is that, unbelievably, Snyder created one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen and probably the best Superman Vs Batman movie that we could hope to see. I'm willing to overlook the few shortcomings.
 
I was expecting to hate this movie and was against affleck as batman. I saw it today really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing the justice league and wonder woman movies.
While i can understand not giving this film praise from a film critics perspective, it felt the same as reading a miller comic.
 
I saw it and was mildly surprised. Don't know if it was decent or all the bad reviews lowered the idea for me and it beat that low idea.

I thought batman was a little bitch for most the movie. It's almost like he was jealous that someone else was fighting crime and getting headlines.

Something about afflecks smug face just makes me want to punch him in the face. He did ok as Batman but was underwhelming as Bruce wayne.

People hated The lex character but I actually liked it.

Amy Adams was meeeh, and fishburne was just a token black dude for the movie.

don't like how it ended unless they have a awesome reappearance scene in Justice League.

Warner Bros. Considering Releasing Fewer Films as BATMAN V SUPERMAN Underperforms

After an abysmal run of expensive underperformers including Jupiter Ascending, Pan and In the Heart of the Sea, Warner Bros. launched its effort at a Marvel-style film universe with the DC Comics movie that had been touted as proof the regime installed in 2013 and headed by chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara was getting on track. But a dizzying 69 percent plunge that followed its March-record $166.1 million domestic opening ($422.5 million worldwide) means Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is not a clear win.

Some competitors say the film may turn a profit but hardly will be the money gusher studios hope for when they pour massive resources into making a giant tentpole with a big star — with a budget in this case said to be in excess of $300 million, and Ben Affleck. "The biggest problem," says the head of a rival studio, "is that it is not turning [DC] into Marvel. The audience has communicated, as have the critics." One agent notes BvS likely won't get to $1 billion despite launching the universe with "two of the most iconic characters in history." Pointing out that Jurassic World pulled in $1.67 billion globally, he continues, "you can't tell me Batman v. Superman is so much less valuable."

Several sources say Warner Bros. executives were convinced they had the goods with BvS and were shocked when negative reviews began pouring in. Now, with DC movies dated through 2020, the outcome has led to a flurry of rumors that the studio will make adjustments — maybe add a new producer? — rather than allow BvS director Zack Snyder to proceed with the two-part Justice League.

But sources with firsthand knowledge of the situation say the studio has no such plans. One says the filmmakers naturally will evaluate what went wrong with BvS, but when it comes to Justice League, "we're not going to take a movie that's supposed to be one thing and turn it into a copycat of something else."

Warners could have some bright spots this year. Suicide Squad (Aug. 5) might be the fan hit the DC universe needs. The studio will have a potential draw for adults with Eastwood's hero pilot pic Sully (Sept. 9). And on Nov. 18, Warners will launch what seems its surest four-quadrant bet, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But, notes analyst Steve Birenberg of Northlake Capital Management, "Time Warner has some work ahead, and it would be helpful if the next movie in the DC relaunch were more widely praised."

I don't think fans are stupid, even casual fans.

With Thanos and Darkseid story lines being so similiar (in terms of visually as well as the big bad which these movies culminate towards) people are of course going to say 'Wait a minute, the Marvel universe is already doing this.'

Something dramatic needs to happen here - Marvel was able to overcome some poor performing Hulk movies with a legendary Iron Man movie which re-kickstarted their entire franchise - I think DC can still pull this out of their ass, they just need to make one good movie. Maybe Wonder Woman is that movie? Maybe Suicide Squad is the movie?

But Snyder needs to go asap. Also, build the individual franchises better and stop cramming so many characters in right away - that screams 'we need to catch up with our story to compete with Marvel!!!'

Dumb haters/marvel huthuggers don't even know that Bats actually have a plan/strategy for how to kill every member of JL in case they go dark side. He does, just because he IS Bats.

Everyone has a right to their opinion and I give Bats v Sups 11 out of 10.

is spot on.

Except for vs part, its not versus movie, V is more like visiting. Bats visits metropolis to score some "green" and douche Sups breaks his wheels and tells him to Fuck Off. Would You not get pissed if that happened to You? lol
