So is the first justice leauge movie real coming out already next year?

I don't think fans are stupid, even casual fans.

With Thanos and Darkseid story lines being so similiar (in terms of visually as well as the big bad which these movies culminate towards) people are of course going to say 'Wait a minute, the Marvel universe is already doing this.'

Something dramatic needs to happen here - Marvel was able to overcome some poor performing Hulk movies with a legendary Iron Man movie which re-kickstarted their entire franchise - I think DC can still pull this out of their ass, they just need to make one good movie. Maybe Wonder Woman is that movie? Maybe Suicide Squad is the movie?

But Snyder needs to go asap. Also, build the individual franchises better and stop cramming so many characters in right away - that screams 'we need to catch up with our story to compete with Marvel!!!'

which is really ironic, considering many people believe Thanos character was inspired by darkseid and metron ( both which come from DC)

Yeah no doubt where Marvel got the idea from. You snooze you lose, I guess.

http://collider.com/batman-v-superman-box-office-700-million/

its already at 700 millions, i think this movie will make 950 million, maybe even 1 billion in box office.

I think i read an article once in forbes by a guy named Mark Hughes, that 800 - 1 billion break event point is overstatement, he said the the point are around 700 millions.

even if the break event point is 800 million, i think WB/DC will still make around 100 million profit, and when you include Merchandise sales, Product placement and also the fact that people are hyped about 3 hours long DVD, the profit will grow way bigger.

i think its still a good red panty night for WB/DC, considering this not a justice league movie yet.

Spot on, CHL.

I think people would love SS, but not as much as Wonder Woman IMO.

Many people want to watch BvS just to see Wonder Women, she is probably GOAT Female character in comic book history.

"You are not brave, men are brave"
"You were never a god, You are not even a man"
then with his possibly last breath, Sups begs the guy who is about to end him to save his HUMAN mother.
How do You kill a guy who You consider a "not a fricking human at all" after that?
and don't even try to tell me that you noticed that their moms share first name before.

Dumb haters/marvel huthuggers don't even know that Bats actually have a plan/strategy for how to kill every member of JL in case they go dark side. He does, just because he IS Bats.

Everyone has a right to their opinion and I give Bats v Sups 11 out of 10.

is spot on.

Except for vs part, its not versus movie, V is more like visiting. Bats visits metropolis to score some "green" and douche Sups breaks his wheels and tells him to Fuck Off. Would You not get pissed if that happened to You? lol

This.

people are entitled to they own opinion, i thinks its silly to say BvS has now flaws, but i think its silly to give it anything lower than 5/10.

i have no quarrel for anyone who gave it 5-10 out of 10.

i haven't gave movie lower than 5/10 since the last time i saw M night shamlayan's movies.

I honestly think JL should have jsut taken their time and built up their franchise like Marvel did. I think DC is behind enough that by the time the get to darkside it wont be close enough to Marvel for people to care. Plus people wont care if all the movies that lead up to that were great.

I've been saying this since day one.

Solid 6.5-7/10

I'm late to the party so I will only discuss a few issues that have my brain going;

1.) I thought the film started well. Near the end, the script tries to do much, and Snyder isn't capable of subtlety.

2.) Really disappointed with the action. I thought the "Batmobile" chase was going to be the highlight of the film for me. It was poorly framed, edited, and ridiculously over the top. LOL at a Gatling Gun mounted in the back of a Ford Escape. Why CGI the shit out of that scene when a simple chase sequence would have done just as well. Especially when you could have just had Batfleck chasing the convoy and baddies left and right making him detour through the streets of Gotham. Do you even Mad Max Snyder?

3.) Loved the "Flashpoint Paradox" easter egg. I think they should have made that subplot the backbone of the film. They should have given more time Batfleck's misgivings and nightmares. Quick, rapid cuts of distorted images, awake and asleep. You're not sure if Batfleck is becoming unhinged or paranoid.

And when Batfleck is about to kill Cavilman, "The Flash" should have reappeared screaming at him "to do it" and then he disappears. Batfleck, unsure of what the fuck is going on, and finding out him and Supes share the same mother, stops himself from killing Cavilman.

Finally, condense the ending and make it stupid simple. Steal a page from S:TM. Lex's plan is to detonate a Nuclear Bomb over the populace of Metropolis and Gotham. Supes and Batman stop him. Supes dies saving the world. Batman respects him and captures Luthor. Smug Batfleck thinks all is well and boom, Flash reappears "It's not over!"

Film ends with Superman's coffin.

Easter Egg Ending = Doomsday gestating in the Kryptonian ship.

PS.

LMMFAO @ "Your mom's named Martha too? Do you have a cousin named Joe?" LOL Goyer you stupid piece of shit!

The break-even point is really hard to judge, because it will vary wildly depending on how much of the production and advertising get covered by things outside the box-office haul (many of which you already mention: product placements, advertising partnerships, tax breaks, merchandising, home video, streaming, TV broadcasting, etc), not to mention advertising itself isn't included in the budget. The amount that the studio takes from ticket receipts will also vary; they usually make more off opening weekend sales than subsequent weeks and the amount they get internationally will vary (not to mention China is notoriously difficult to deal with, so despite being a huge market the studios can have trouble making money there). So, if you look at it like this:
Budget: $250mil
Advertising: $200mil (typically 50-150% of budget)
Opening Weekend Take: $132mil (somewhere around 60% of sales)
Full Run Take: $72mil (somewhere around 40% of sales, estimated $345mil domestic total)
International Take: $130mil (around 25% of sales, estimated 40/60 split for $518mil international total)
That leaves $116mil to be covered by other avenues. That's not an insurmountable amount, but if it weren't for costs being covered by things outside just tickets the movie would probably be a money loser (which is actually going to be true for most films).

They should have left out Wonderwoman and Doomsday. It was a ridiculous plot.

This. It should have been at least 45 minutes shorter. Cut the dream sequence down to the bare bones. Make it all about Bats and Supes, since that's all most fans care about anyway. After an epic fight scene, have WW step in to stop Bats from killing Supes. Luther gets frustrated and unleashes Doomsday. We get one shot of him lined up against the Big Three, then fade to black. Writing appears on the screen

To be continued in, Death of Superman

although i do think Doomsday can be put to better use, i disagree with the WW part, and a lot of fans will too.

There are many data that shows that many people watching BvS because they want to see WW, Fans has been waiting to see WW on big screen and Gal Gadot did really good job in the movie and got me super excited for the WW movie.

when WW shows up with the music, the whole theater went crazy, it was fun experience for me and people in there.

of course,

but the benefit of using known comic book character (or novel, games, animated series) is that they can make a lot of money from product placement and merchandise.

and it will definitely create demand for similar product that are already out there ( for example, people might want to buy Man of steel dvd because of this movie )

i mean how much money does Transformer makes with all that product placement plus merchandise sales.

Her character in the movie made no damn sense. This entire movie was just an excuse to create the JL. There was no heart, no logic, no quality writing in this entire movie. It was a bad joke.

well if that is your opinion, i respect that, but you are in the minority.

http://comicbook.com/2016/03/23/survey-says-wonder-woman-is-batman-v-supermans-biggest-draw/

fans has been waiting to see ww on big screen, i certainly did, and Gal Gadot deliver.

and i do think she has important tole in the movie, and plus the dialogue beween her and Bruce was great.

there is flaw in this movies, i agree, but even majority people in this thread mark it around 6-10, IMBD rate it 74/100 and most critics agree that there is something great about the movies, it just seems rushing it.

so to say that the movie was a big joke is a minority opinion, which i respect, but you have to realize that its just your opinion not a fact.

Before BvS came out I thought the Red Hood was going to be one of the reasons why Superman had issues with Batman. I thought Red Hood was going to go around killing politicians/criminals/anyone else, but the media and everyone else would think it was Batman's doing. And in my mind Red Hood was doing it intentionally to make it look like it was Batman and make the people turn on him. Then after BvS resolves, in Batman's solo movie he goes to investigate what's been going on and that leads into a Red Hood movie.

I thought the note Bruce got saying, "You let your family die" was from the Red Hood.

Wish they would have gone this route.
