Holly Hunter did a good job in my opinion despite the small role. Solid actress. Cool to see her in this movie.

@Dragonlordxxxxx, could you please elaborate upon what the original Man of Steel 2 script would have been or was supposed to be? Thanks if you can.

interesting to say the least, but if the motherbox was already on earth doing its thing to cyborg, does that mean darkseid already had intentions invading earth long before luthor got the kryptonian ship to "teach" him?

More than likely.

But in these hands, it would have been handled so horribly and clunky that it didn't matter. Even if Snyder would have tried to get that across, he probably wouldn't have known how to. For being so bloated and stuffed, there wasn't a lot of exposition when there needed to be.

Great movie. The first time i seen it I was a little bored but it was also very hot in the movie theater i went to. I think i was analyzing every little detail. I gave it an 7.5 or 8.

I had tickets to go with the fam today to see it on imax and enjoyed it so much more. Thought it was near perfect. I mean i have little gripes and thats why i gave it a 9 but it was great. Phenomenal

I haven't read the script or anything like that. I'm just saying that if you remove Batman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League from the equation, you can still see how it's basically a Man of Steel 2 story underneath.

His was definitely the most layered and substantial storyline.

I could see BvS actually being MOS 2 had they not gone the hurry up to avengers route.

Ahh, okay. I misunderstood. I still wish they would have let this universe breath. Potentially give us MoS2 without his death, but lead into Doomsday popping up in the third installment or the Justice League film. You could have brought Wonder Woman into the fold in MoS2 somehow. Then give Battfleck own Batman movie. I'll be honest, outside of Superman and Batman, I'm not incredibly knowledgeable about DC's universe compared to Marvel's, but there is a lot of opportunity here. I truly hope they pick a new director and better writers.

I thoroughly agree with your assessment that they need a Kevin Feige like overseer to reign over and have control above the directors, pushing the entire arc over time.

I know Cavill is getting a bunch of shit for this movie, but considering the script and how they're having him mope around and do the same thing two films in a row, I think he's doing a good job. He's not a bad Superman by any means.

I really wish they would have done this too. I dont really understand the thinking behind trying to do it as fast as possible. These characters are not going anywhere and WB is not going bankrupt

Holly Hunter is such a pro. Good to see Diane Lane and Costner also. Wonder if these vets really wanted to be in this movie.

Sally Field said she didn't want to be in the Spider-Man movies but did it as a favor to a producer.

How much could it have cost to just add more bones

They already spent 200million + whats another couple million

For how much Snyder claims to love DC and comics you would think that he would have seen this and fixed it

Yep. Same situation with Brandon Routh in Superman Returns who was great in the role but had the misfortune of a bad script.

If they're really in this for the long haul and really want to make money, why shit the bed with a mess like this? Why not take your time, make deep stories that have time to delve into the characters and make us care about them? Why not naturally shoehorn other characters into the story when it makes sense?

If Warner Bros. really wanted to make a fuck ton of money, that's how to do it. Marvel just made Ant-Man and as a stand alone film, in a universe that is thoroughly believable, competent and open, it made over $500-million wordwide. That was unfathomable ten, twelve years ago. Warners needs to be thinking in these type of terms. If they're trying to make billions of dollars, someone needs to be controlling these films from an outside perspective.

It reeks of an amateurish cash grab. I'm not naive to think that Disney isn't doing the same, but at least they're trying their hardest to make these movies good.

Superman is a shit role for anyone, no matter how good of an actor they are. 70 years of absolutely boring personality with a god skill set to compensate.

I like the the concept of him debating his role in life and whether or not true altruism exists - or if the world is actually better with him. His story line was the best and brought down by the presences of batman and wonder woman. The hero alien vs false god duality was amazing - it was just severely rushed.

I could've dealt with just Superman's story line OR a truer to form B v S story line without doomsday or WW - but all of it, mixed together - way too much.,

Still loved the movie though

I suppose, but he's supposed to be resolute. He was walking around, indifferent and introspective for two and a half hours in his last film. Give him some fucking balls, man. Snyder keeps trying to neuter him. The character isn't hard to work around, but Reeves did it. Routh wasn't a bad Superman either. The way the writers portray him goes a long way toward making the character better. Snyder and Goyder definitely went out of their way to make him full on sour grapes.

How fucking dare you, lol.
lmao.

also, idk about any of you but i loved doomsday, wish he looked like he does in the comics though. i thought he was pretty fuckin menacing just from how insanely powerful he was. he was fuckin schooling supes and wonderwoman

Yeah. I like that she wasn't in Lex's pocket.

On the other hand, I hated Laurence Fishburne's version of Perry White in BvS.

lmao.

Im interested if they bring him back

Since they already killed him with kryptonite once it wont work again but yeah I doubt we ever see him again

lmao.

The idea of him was executed well considering it appeared he was a mere add on. His power was menacing, but imagine if they built this up correctly, where he runs through the Justice League, wreaks havoc on Metropolis, even potentially Gotham, and everyone is scared shitless of him. Instead, they designed him like a fucking orc, gave him no personality and dealt with him in twenty minutes. What the fuck, man?
