Dude... Why are you so invested in people thinking this movie is particularly good?

i just like to pointed out the fact that whoever think this movies is plain out terrible is in the minority.

that's all

like i said most audience score it 70%, the median of metacritics is 51, and the consensus critics in RT are mixed.

so most of the critics think its a meh..., most of the audience think its good.

It's not just this post in particular. For the past three weeks I've been looking in at this thread on and off and every single time I see you in here defending this movie in one way or another, trying to convince people that this movie is not as bad as it seems. Why are you SO invested in this movie? What are you trying to accomplish at this point?

Oye, whatever you say. See you next week when I glance at this thread again...

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice lost 597 theaters this weekend, most of them being IMAX and PLF auditoriums given up to Walt Disney’s The Jungle Book. The DC Comics superhero sequel earned $9.01 million in its fourth weekend (-61%) to bring The Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc. film’s 24-day total up to $311.31m domestic. It got dinged by The Jungle Book no doubt, both in terms of competition and the loss of bigger screen formats. At this point, the end domestic goal is doubling its debut weekend and topping Spider-Man 3 ($336.5m back in 2007 and in 2D)."

Hoping to match Spiderman 3 isn't a benchmark for success for a film like this

I speak in the context of them not having to drop their universe , the "Doomsday" was if this bombed and the DCEU doesn't even get off the ground past Bats and Supes , I'm happy because it keeps the Rock as Black Adam hopes alive , that Dudes my Hero

I am a fully paid up member of the Church of Excelsior. There is no God but Stan, and Kirby is His Prophet(Peace Be Upon Him).:D

But I'm disappointed in the hate BvS is getting. Yes, the film was deeply flawed, but it wasn't a Green Lantern level shit-fest. Affleck is, IMHO, the best Dark Knight to appear on the screen so far. The action scenes, especially Batman's fights, were orders of magnitude better than the crap in DKR.

As a Marvel fan, I'm glad that, while a huge disappointment, BvS still had some Game(mainly thanks to WW and Big Ben). Hopefully, DC/WB will learn from their mistakes in this movie and stop trying to run before they can walk. Marvel took it slow and steady, and earned their right to a shared universe. DC must do the same.

Just read this article and it mimics a lot of my personal frustrations with the movie. As times passes, I think the big kicker for me is how easily some of these things could have been rectified. The whole movie reeks of directives from suits that had to be done and writers/directors who don't really love the characters or get them at all. Whats worse, theres a crapton of people in the industry who do, and have made stories and scripts that killed. Ugh, anyways here is the article.

It's a very well written article. But my Bodybuilding analogy was better.:)

It's a terrible movie.

It really doesn't deserve my time to deconstruct but for you I'll make an exception.

You liked it? Good for you.

Majority hated it, like me.
Snyder did a terrible job. I actually liked Man of Steel minus Clark letting his dad die. I also liked Watchmen. However his biggest flaw throughout all his films is his editing. He prolongs, extends and adds shit that isn't necessary.

I don't need to know Batman's backstory. I also don't need an hour of literally nothing happening.

I don't need an absurd Kingdom Come and The Dark Knight Returns mutated love child ripped of any humanity to be written by a dipshit like Goyer. I also don't need Batman with an absurd agenda of trying to murder the man who singlehandedly saved the Earth.

I finally don't need Mark Zuckerberg as Luthor.

I grew up with these guys and to see what I've been waiting for over 20 years to finally arrive on the silver screen as a hack job plastered together by a bozo is heartbreaking to my comic book nerd heart.

Whatever Snyder added that you did not like, was still done well. Batman's parent death scene was done quickly and stylishly. Clark Kent's interacting with Laurence Fishburne and showing his naivety in the news industry goes hand in hand with Supes naivety when dealing politics.

Yet it is done rather quickly, but still in a stylish fashion. It does a great job of setting up the showdown between the two. WW brief scenes are fine also. We will get more of her when her movie comes out.

The action, special effects, and that soundtrack are some of the best in comic book to live action of all time. Better than anything Marvel has done.

Are you kidding me? That critic is "profoundly" (his own words) bad at his job. he is just grasping for bad things to say.

If some people dont think it is a great movie, fine, but to say this is terrible, then those people are Marvel Shills.

Lol at this

Iron Man (one of the comic book GOATs) shits on this film

So does Deadpool, Guardians and Winter Soldier.

Grasping? These are all things I was saying the first time I watched it. Hell, my Wife looked at me and said..well that kinda boring, and why was Wonderwomen in it, I don't get it. Face it man, you may love it cause you so badly want to, but objectively its a bad movie. The last time I was this disappointed in a movie was The Dark Knight Rises. Its a bad movie, maybe not terrible, but its not good.

So does Deadpool, Guardians and Winter Soldier.

Iron Man is just RDJ prancing around, and then fights boring villains.

Deadpool is a good movie, but its light-hearted approach for a character that is not meant to be taken that seriously. Hard to compare the two.

Guardians is a kids movie, so again hard to compare.

Winter Soldier is hard to take serious. They talk too much. And too many stories going on. Cap's love story, Fury Fake Death, Conspiracy within conspiracy, Cap's long lost best friend Reunion, Big Brother/eye in the sky Gubment spying, Scarlet Johannson without makeup, Falcon just looks stupid with those wings, just way way too many frigging characters.

If you and wife enjoy the Marvel movies more, than I can understand. You prefer the more light hearted, fun, movies over the more serious ones.

I like all kinds of movies as long as they are good. The Dark Knight is a freaking masterpiece to me and it was also dark and serious..hmmmm...I wonder why I liked that one and not BvS...interesting.

Because it had more than BvS. A lot more. And they were not put together as well as BvS because there is no central theme to it.

This just isn't true at all on any level. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.

Come on man

Iron Man was universally praised

RDJ was perfect in the role
Paltrow was perfect as Pepper
Daniels is a master at his craft

Prob the perfect comic book film

If you want a serious comic book movie then Batman Begins would hit the spot. Which I would also put up there as one of the GOATs.

I'm not a Marvel or DC nuthugger. I just can appreciate good films.

It's fine if people liked the movie, but you guys should really stop acting like everyoje that didn't is some extreme outlier, or has some personal grudge against it.

The movie had some serious issues, and from critics to fans most people are identifying the same issues with it. While it was not terrible to me, it was quite average. It had some great parts, but many flaws as well and it ended up being somewhere in the middle. I honestly really wanted to like it and to give it a higher score but just couldn't.

I'm a big fan of batman and superman too, they really should have been able to capitalize more on the two of them being in the same movie. Imo it's hard to argue that the first two nolan batman films, Iron man, Captain america, gotg etc. were not better movies. Yes this had a darker tone than most marvel films, that does not automatically make it better. The Incredibles is still one of the best superhero movies ever, and that has a light tone for the most part.
