Watched the video, and while I agree with a lot of the individual points, it's still a plodding borefest of a film. One particular point though: I totally got what was going on in the "Martha" scene. It was still really poorly done. I feel the same way about the tornado in MoS; I understand all the motivations and why it happened like it did, but it was still a weirdly executed scene that should have been written differently.

The Tornado scene in MOS is shit. The whole point of PA Kent dying from a heart attack in the Donnor flicks is thst for all Clark's powers he can't save everyone . Superman let's his dad Die from a Tornado ? Because of Respect? Yeah Fuck you Snyder.

Pa Kent anticipated how the World would react to Clarks powers, and how it would affect Clark (as we see in BvS) . He wanted his boy to make the decision to show himself to the world on his own terms rather than forced to do so before he was ready in order to save his father.

I think its also serves as a huge moment for Clark, who after that, makes it a point to always use his powers to help others whenever he can. Its probably why the Court house bombing affected him so badly. This was the 3rd time he had utterly failed despite having the ability to save human lives (first Pa Kent, and the second during the battle with Zod which he probably rationalised in his mind).

Mel Gibson Calls BATMAN V SUPERMAN a "Piece of Shit"

Mel-Gibson-Batman-v-Superman-Dragonlord.jpg

After Hacksaw Ridge received a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, Deadline caught up with Mel Gibson to ask for his thoughts on the current state of Hollywood, and he didn't hold back when it came to his thoughts on blockbusters.

"I look at them and scratch my head. I’m really baffled by it. I think there’s a lot of waste but maybe if I did one of those things with the green screens I’d find out different. I don’t know. Maybe they do cost that much. I don’t know. It seems to me that you could do it for less. If you’re spending outrageous amounts of money, $180 million or more, I don’t know how you make it back after the tax man gets you, and after you give half to the exhibitors. What did they spend on ‘Batman v Superman’ that they’re admitting to? And it’s a piece of shit."

"I’m not interested in the stuff," Gibson says. "Do you know what the difference between real superheroes and comic book superheroes is? Real superheroes didn’t wear spandex. So I don’t know. Spandex must cost a lot."

Well, I don't see eye to eye with Mel Gibson over too many things, but...

Sounds like he just hates comic book movies

He admitted though to liking Iron Man 1 and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Mel Gibson Reveals Turning Down Odin Role in THOR

Mel-Gibson-Odin-Thor-Dragonlord.jpg

Mel Gibson made some publicity rounds at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of his latest film Blood Father, and one interview brought the revelation that Mel Gibson turned down the role of Odin in Thor, the God of Thunder’s moody father who ended up being played by Anthony Hopkins.

Speaking to The Guardian (via The Playlist), Gibson was asked if he was ever offered a role in a superhero movie, to which he simply said, “Yeah, long time ago, to play Thor’s dad. But I didn’t do it.”

Gibson as Thor’s father is an interesting prospect, but Anthony Hopkins has been so perfect in the role that it’s hard to imagine anyone else being quite as effective in the role.

Gibson also shared his on superhero movies in general. “Some are good. Some are kind of funny … Guardians of the Galaxy. Or the first Iron Man. And some of them are just like retreats. I mean you can watch them do Spider-Man five times…”

I love me some Mad Mel, but he's just salty because neither DC nor Marvel have offered him a role yet:D

I imagine instead of being seen in public he just watches film from his personal movie theatre where he watches a current movie, then rewatches one of his own and shakes his head at how current hollywood just "doesnt get it"

love me some Mel Gibson though, whether he's a nutter or not he makes good films and is a fantastic actor

He's wrong, it wasn't a piece of shit. Shit only costs the price of cheap food and never takes 3 hours to get away from.

BvS was 3 different movies seemingly made to spite eachother smashed together by a WB executive high on whiskey and cocaine at 3 am.

Perhaps the best and most efficient description I have read of that film.

This right here is part of what makes Mel awesome. Look how he refers to "one of those things with the green screens."

It's fucking AMAZING now how we have these movies that are shot almost entirely in front of a green screen. Mel doesn't fuck with that shit. He makes real movies with real people in real locations.
