No one complaining about the acting? WTF? EVERYONE has killed Eisenberg for his turn as Lex, rightfully so he was horrendous.
Tbf I get the feeling he was portraying the character they wanted, it's just that what they wanted is awful.

Jeremy Irons Says BATMAN V SUPERMAN Deserved Its Bad Reviews

Batman-v-Superman-Alfred-Jeremy-Irons-Dragonlord.jpg

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Jeremy Irons minced no words in talking about the poor reviews for the Zack Snyder-helmed superhero smackdown, saying he found the less-than-glowing critical response to be warranted:

‘Deservedly so. I mean it took $800 million, so the kicking didn’t matter but it was sort of overstuffed…It was very muddled. I think the next one will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear.”

That “next one” is the currently filming Justice League Part One, which Snyder is directing but which is being watched ever-closely by the media and Warner Bros. alike. Indeed, the studio has been doing some major course-correction in the wake ofBvS, from upping Ben Affleck to an executive producer to setting an official head of DC Films to scaling back the roles of those that have been intimately involved in the crafting of the DC Extended Universe thus far. So while Irons’ words may be a bit harsh coming from someone who was in the movie and will be part of the universe for some time to come, it’s not as if the studio is pretending that everything is hunky dory.

"overstuffed" is the perfect description but waiting for @BoxingFan123 to come in and tell Jeremy Irons that if only he understood that the nightmare scene was disjarring on purpose then he would see that everything else in the movie was brilliant. :{

got to side with Alfred on this one

besides the overstuffing,
the premise of Batman wanting to kill Superman was a poor choice to build the plot around

Its just simply not a good movie, Batman was awesome, everything else was average or sucked.

As if Cap Murica and Avengers is overstuffed with Campy one liners like, "its terribly well balanced, well if there is too much weight you lost power on swing", or shots of jumping running and jumping, doing parkour just to show how beautiful they all are, or RDJ running his mouth.

Avengers as average as it was, is still superior to BvS.

Yeah overstuffed seemed like a perfect way to describe it. Loved the batman stuff, but everything else was mediocre to awful. I think some people are missing the point as well that a boring movie draws more attention to issues with the plot.

Look at Terminator for example, the time travel plot in those movies has never made sense. The first two movies just used it as a backdrop for an exciting action movie, so you didn't dwell on it. Then with terminator genysis they decided to spend about half the movie talking about time paradoxes and changes that were made to the timeline. Civil War had some issues with the plot too, but it was so exciting it's much easier to overlook them. BVS spent so much time on long, brooding conversations that it's a lot easier to notice the issues with the story.

This movie suffers from editing , I hate the nightmare sequence , it looked stupid and Batman's movement in that scene looked clumsy and in slow motion

An oscar winner and one of the few good performances in the movie being real about the product put out despite you know getting paid by WB and some of you want to criticize his perspective , yeah some of you need to accept this doesn't really go down as a win...

The thing is,

Marvel took years of stand alone movies, easter eggs, and post credit endings to get away with "overstuffed" movies

Yup I typically do not spend time second guessing but while I think Batman's paranoia of Superman was justified, the proper path to play off of that would have been to have had Lex develop red kryptonite, not knowing how it would affect Superman and then Superman and Batman forced to fight due to that. then Batman, the greatest detective does not look like a dork because in fact his paranoia about Superman has been proven correct as Superman rages with no one to stop him. That plot line would have taken no more time and would be far more credible.

I think this is a major point as well. They took an incredible amount of care and patience in crafting their CU. Something like Civil War could have been a horrible mess, introducing Crossbones, Zemo, Black Panther, a new Spider-man. Also the fact that Vision, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, WS, and Ant Man are relatively new characters.

However they've had multiple movies to develop the relationships between Cap, Tony, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, so there was plenty of familiarity for people that have seen most of the movies.

On the other hand this was the first appearance of a new Batman, Luthor, and Wonder Woman, and only the second appearance of Superman after a solo film with mixed reviews. They just put too much weight on one movie, and as a consequence it feels rushed and at times incoherent even though it has a long runtime. I wish they would have had the patience to build this slowly, getting Batman and Superman onscreen together for the first time is an amazing opportunity that ennds up feeling somewhat wasted.

there are a lot of different paths they could have taken.

The draw should've been Batman and Superman being partners not enemies. A little gamesmanship of course but nothing malicious.

I posted that World's Finest video on an earlier page and that's an animated movie much better than this film that didn't take $400 million to make.

Tried to watch this today, I endured it for an hour and a half before I had to switch it off. What a pile of shit. Complete nonsensical mess.

And a tv universe that also feeds and provides back story.

Exactly. Or what I like to call, KT's Gym Analogy;)

Marvel is the skinny, little runt who decides to go to the gym and get his Swole on. He starts ridiculously light. He lifts baby weights. But he does it with good form. He follows a well thought out program, and his nutrition is on point. It's a slow process, but after a few years, the skinny little runt is now the biggest, strongest guy in the gym. He's jacked, with Pecs and Gunz that turn on Nuns. And he's Benching teh 275. For reps.

DC is the naturally big and strong guy who wants to get bigger and stronger in a hurry. He's not interested in programming; he maxes out nearly every workout and lifts with shitty form. He runs a dirty bulk, so he gets bigger quickly, but a lot of his weight is fat. Sooner or later it catches up with him, and he blows out a rotator cuff trying to Bench teh 275 with his ass in the air and his spotter upright rowing the bar.
