It was very off-putting, you had the veneer of entertainment and comedy basically covering up some serious mental and physical abuse. His parents shouldn't be left off the hook, even though they seemed 'nice'. We can do damage to ourselves and each other in many subtle ways, some of those things only manifesting years down the road. Giving your kids the sycophant's type of upbringing may make you look like the cool parents, but you can create monsters in that process.

It's important to to note that even with good parenting you can't always course correct a human being. Genetic disposition towards destructive and addictive behaviour are hard things to overcome.

Yeah this was one part of Jackass I NEVER found remotely fun and actually found to be repulsive and somewhat disturbing to watch. He's always been a wanker IMO. No sympathy whatsoever for the prick

Sure, he was a person who in the right place and time succeeded in doing a thing for a while. It's kinda like saying it was an achievement for Korn to start Nu Metal. For me the achievement I measure them by is the art they have produced, rather than the scene they pioneered.

During the beginning, his skating remained to be solid especially on transition. He also did a lot of editing. He really did have a vision. A lot of skate videos at the time had "skits", but nothing like this. It's similar to how Rob Dyrdek got his start with Rob and Big. He had the skit with Big in the DC video. Both of these guys saw a market and exploited it with multiple products. It was far beyond just luck and right place, right time.

I never watched Nine Club Experience, but I think it was more of a live show where they talked about video parts, reviewed some instagram footage, etc. I'm sure they had guests, but it wasn't like their typical podcast. Their normal episodes with a guest are still on and released Monday. I think returning guest episodes are called "Stop and Chat". Those are what I watch.

Johnny Knoxville is 52 years old. You start looking old when you get old and he has suffered countless injuries.
