Multiplat BALDUR'S GATE III

Played a shit ton this weekend and realized I majorly fucked up.

I fixed the shadow curse too early.

I had 4 or 5 side quests that needed resolved before the battle at the tower, and a bunch of stuff I wanted to buy from the vendors there.

Jahiara may or may not have died during said battle.

She did.

DAMMIT!!!!!!

I do have a save from before finishing the Nightsong quest, but that would be a ton of real time lost.

Decisions, decisions...
Depends on what you wanna do. I went back and had to redo the battle cause Jaheira kept dying a few times. I felt like she was worth it because of B1-B2 background lore figured she’d might give some insight for my DU playthrough. I also like the dynamic between her and Karlach fairly amusing

Rather vague spoiler below
. I know of a certain quest she gives you in act 3 to make it worth the while though.

Disappointing but I let her die and moved on. When I do dark urge I wont be doing Tactician. I might go the easiest mode I can and sort of power through and just enjoy the story. Tactician has been fun but it's very time consuming and I have to reload saves a lot until I can figure out a proper plan to win. On the tough fights at least.

I'm right before the final battle in act 3 and looked up quests I could've missed but seems like I'm basically done.

Loving the game but I just recently got so much great gear, weapons and armor. I hit level 12 probabyl haflway through act 3, but kinda bums me out I only get to play my fully geared out level 12 characters for a very small portion of the game and just a few battles.

Yea one of the complaints I've seen is not having a NG+. People keep giving horrible excuses for not having it i.e. it will break the combat/gamplay early on. I say just bump the monsters all to level 10+ and move on. If it breaks the game so what let people have NG+ with their high level equipment\gear if they want.

I kinda figured she’d be attached to certain quests and outcomes . So I wanted to keep her around. Glad I did, she made certain things easier in act 3.

Her and Isobel fights are bout the only ones I reloaded to ensure they’d survive . I wanted to be able to make sure I could recruit most of the people I could for final boss

She's one of the main reasons I want to go back, and the stuff I wanted to buy.

I've just accepted that if you need me to rescue you, plan the funeral.

Chick that was captured by the hag? Shot the cage thinking it would release her. Dead.

Gnome strapped to the windmill? He might not have landed yet (which is one of the funniest moments of the game so far).

I did rescue the kid from the Druids, and the gnomes from the guy whose head you cut off.

- When I was storming MR she kept walking into all the AOE’s and died within 2 turns. Re load same thing happened again. Second reload I went through the kitchen door and flanked the enemies in the main room and chopped them down.

-I used a water bottle and put the flames out and killed the hag out right lol. She supposed to beg for her life once you get her down to a quarter of her health bad. I heard she gives a buff if you let her live. But nope burnt her to a cinder with a grease bottle and fire arrow.

Gnome strapped to the windmill? He might not have landed yet (which is one of the funniest moments of the game so far).

- He ties into the gnomes you mentioned you rescued.

I did rescue the kid from the Druids, and the gnomes from the guy whose head you cut off.

-Tiefling kids you find in act 3 and to meet up with the kid boss. Mol, I think her name was.
-The gnomes you rescued you can find them again and will give some interesting dialogue and other things.

Go to the circus when you get to act 3 . You’ll have a blast

I thought I had been all over the map in Act 3. Where is the circus?
When you first enter act 3 right by the Rivington entrance . Before Wyrmrock .
There’s a couple ghouls hanging out front and I think either an elf or human attendant . Ghoul has to approve you entering , he won’t lol. So it either goes to a roll off or persuasion roll and I think you can bribe your way in.

Completely missed this. There was so much going on when I first got to Act 3 it was overwhelming I just walked straight to Wymrock.

So much was grabbing my attention when I first went through. From the squatters quest to finding parts of Dribbles the Clown and then trying to find the warehouse where to “toys” are then to the murder mystery. All of that is before you hit the bridge to Wyrmrock , meet up with some Tieflings and Deep Rock Gnomes literally under the bridge of Gortash’s home base .
It was hard to start focusing on quests lol that and just exploring the first part of Rivington. My ADHD kicked in lol. I spent a few hours finding ways onto the other island without having to mess with the bridge and Steel Guard

I just read all this as I have about another 100 hours in act 3.

Act 3 can be quite extensive . With all the side quests and companion quests you’ll be losing yourself more in that than main story.

Astarion’s arc finally culminating in his ascension or not.

The wizard Lorrokan who was first mentioned in act 1.

Shadowheart having more self discovery.

Everything with Wyll and damnable choice you gotta make.

There’s even a submarine mission. Which has a pretty fun mechanic tied into it.

I’m just amazed at some of the stuff I’ve missed in my first play through compared to my second as the Durge

One of the reasons I have sooooo many hours in, and only in act 2, is because of all these side missions I can't say no to.

And knowing that changing an answer or decision here or there, or even having a different companion with you, could change so much gives this game insane replay value. I NEVER replay games, but this one I know I will.

Once I finish my second playthrough I’m gonna need a break from this game before I come back for my third entire evil Durge .

I think this is one of the best games I’ve played in recent years. Has a rich story, great characters and side characters. Your decisions actually matter and you see most of the consequences for those choices.
Funny as hell moments to didn’t right depressing in some cases.

BG3 definitely deserves GOTY in my opnion. Shows what a little love and years of pre development and alpha game and listening to customer feed back gets ya. A damn perfect game.
Other studios like Bethesda and Blizzard should take notes cause they’ve released some utter trash compared to Larian

Shadowhearts story IMO is the best one by far. At least when it comes to your companions. I haven't finished everyone's quest but I doubt anyone else is going to top her story at this point. Everyone else was pretty good but I really enjoyed her story.

I'm over 100 hours now but I'm ready to finish the game. With that said I still have a lot to do so not sure how much longer I have. I thought I only had about 20 hours left but I've already blown threw that. I just keep thinking I'll talk to this person real quick and next thing I know I'm wrapped up in a 5 hour side quest. I don't think I've ever seen such engaging NPCs in my life for a video game.

I loved all the companion’s quest . I found myself finding those more interesting than going for Gortash or Orinn right away.
Karlach’s was a little short compared to the others but I still enjoyed it.

If a game can actually pull off decent side quests which have an amazing depth and emotional element to them where it makes you want to seek them out over the main story beats . You know the game has done a terrific job. The main story was and ending are awesome but I kept postponing those quests till later because I didn’t want the adventure to end. There was still so much more for me to explore and see , I just couldn’t put it down.
