Multiplat BALDUR'S GATE III

So I just found a forth way into the Underdark.

This game is just amazing.

Insane I only know of two ways.

Picked this up for PS5 and cross save worked great. Had some serious issues with the game at first and was almost pissed for buying this version. Then I restarted my PS5 and moved it to my LG TV and it looked great. I think my PS5 and living room TV just isn't setup right. Might need to see about checking while it's hooked up and maybe adjusting HDR or something. I noticed FF16 looked much better on my LG vs my TCL in the living room. While my PC looks great no matter which TV it is.

I played with a controller on my PC for a few minutes. The radial menus just don't cut it imo. They did a good job with them, there are just too many possible things to do at a given moment. CRPGs are not built for consoles in my humble opinion.

I found 3. Elevator in grymforge, goblin camp ladder to temple, hole in spider cave, and... is the 4th in the mountain pass? I haven't gone there yet.

The Zhentarium hideout too. There is a secret area covered by the cave walls. It leads close to the Mycranid area

Oh I actually did find this but I just went back since I didn't need to go there.

I've been playing the whole time with controller and I wouldn't even play the game without it. I love CRPGs but one issue I have with them on PC is most don't have controller support. Pathfinder thankfully does.

It can be a bit more of a PIA but man after sitting at a desk all day at work fixing PC\server issues I just want to lay on my couch with a controller. Which kind of sucks because it requires me to use my budget TV instead of my gaming TV which is much better but then I have to sit on a computer chair.

I definitely feel that. I don't work on PC's but I do my work on a PC and sometimes I choose to play action games specifically so I can kick back with a controller and smash some baddies without thinking too hard. I just can't do it with games that have turn based tactical combat. I worked night shift last weekend and played on my steam deck at work. Lasted about 10 minutes with a controller before I plugged in a KB+M lol. It probably wouldn't be so bad if I gave it a real chance and let myself acclimate to it.

Act 3 is basically stumbling into one quest, trying to finish it, then accidentally starting another and in the end doing stuff that affects 3-4 different quests.

That's the 4 I've found. The Mycranid area is where I am now, well actually about to get smoked again by the Dreughr.

Once you’re at the Last Light Inn talk to buddy in the bed, the Harpy beside should remark something bout Thaniel . Once that happens go back to camp and talk to Halsin if he accompanied you into act 2.

Halsin will want to talk to the guy in the bed. Halsin will then take off for L L I (last light) you’ll find him in the room now next the guy in the bed. Talk to Halsin and the dude in the bed. It will progress the quest to find Thaniel .

If I recall Thaniel is located like middle of the map and to the east. He’ll be by himself and ask if you want to play hide and seek. Hopefully you either have someone who can see invisibility or you have a potion. Thaniel will then go invisible and have you to find him while his “mommy and daddy” shadows are coming at you. Toggle on turn based and have one person go to the house behind you. That’s where Thaniel will show up. Turn off turn based and story should proceed.

Once Thaniel and you are done talking/playing go back to L L I talk to Halsin bout Thaniel and Halsin will go to him. A battle will happen . Thaniel will take you to a pocket dimension. focus on killing the shadows to break the shield around him and you’re pretty much done.
Yeah I’ve done the quest now but I had to look it up the first time. Actually second time too because I forgot the only way to start it is to talk to some rando sleeping in a bed at the inn.

It just doesn’t make sense to me as the source of the curse as it’s not tied to moonrise tower at all and yet the curse clearly emanates from the tower. That one feels like something got mixed up between the planning and the execution phase of development in act 2

I've never had to think this much about dialogue options and decisions in a game. It's almost stressful lol.

Also so far I can't agree with Act 3 being worse than the first two. The story parts all coming together is so good.

I think what makes Act 3 the worst for most is just how poorly the game runs during act 3. I know I had for more issues in Act 3 then in the first 2 acts.

The only way I knew what to do was because I was following a video from a guy that’s doing a playthrough . If I didn’t watch that video I would have been lost as fuck. Especially when it came to the portal fight.

I’m on my second playthrough now and I’m just getting to the UD . Not looking forward to that quest again.

I think it was Ketheric that helped make the shadow curse and had Balthazar finish it with the capturing of NS. That was all when they were followers of Shar and not Merkul. I just can’t remember what books or journals I was reading that from.

I’ll see if I can’t figure it out from this playthrough I’m on but yeah that one just strikes me as kind of dumb. Maybe I’m missing something though

I don’t disagree. Some of the quests are confusing as all hell. Trying to find the Clown body parts in act 3 is random and scattered and then the Lorrokan quest in act 3 but is referenced in act 1 and gives you hints but by the time act 3 rolled around I was like who.
