Multiplat BALDUR'S GATE III

I'm really glad Starfield is out. I'm getting numerous NPC's doing nothing, turning Act 3 into a slog. I'm waiting for their upcoming oatch.

I just fought a large battle, about 15 enemies. 3 of them did nothing. When it was their turn, it took about two to three minutes of sitting idle before they ultimately did nothing and it moved on the the next person in the queue.

It helped me win the battle in tje end, as I barely made it out alive with two characters, but this is happening to at least one NPC in every battle now. The bigger the battle, the more idle enemies.

Anyone else experience this?

Shame to hear. Apparently the next patch will be focused on Act 3 fixes so should be soon. Another reason I've been taking my time with this game. Wont even have much time this weekend to play either. Friday night I'll have a good amount of time and that's it. Even then been playing games with my group lately so that's also taking away from my time.

You should complete the goblin battles first before even heading to the mountain pass/Creche. Otherwise the game will trigger all the events happening at the Druid Grove as though you let the goblins raid the area. If you are still waiting for the goblin fix, you should do the Underdark first since it wont affect the Druid Grove stuff

definitely finish the grove n goblin quest line. If you go to the creche Mountain path the game will auto resolve the goblin grove conflict for you.
Oh yikes, good to know. Good thing I have a save just before Lae'Zel runs off to meet that Chief guy. I also heard long rests further conversations, but at the same time can trigger events, so I'm kind of unsure of how many can you take, I mostly try to minimize them.

I'll have to look up where the Underdark is, I hear everyone talking about it, but it is kind of hazy to me where it is. I thought it was past the Creche area. Or maybe you could drop into a deep hole where the Matriarch Spider was, but I didn't have feather step, so I just skipped it, assuming I would naturally get to that place anyway.

There are many ways to get to the underdark. I found at least 5. I kinda got there before it even got mentioned to go there because of one of the ways I found. Also it's ok for Lae'Zel to run off and talk to the guy to get the quest update just don't go through with actually traveling to the mountain pass it will even warn you saying tie up losse ends before continuing on

You can access Underdark either where you fought that huge boss spider in that whisphering dark cave, the mushroom portal near the area where Auntie Ethel caged Mayrina, the Zhente guild hideout and at the hideout where Priestess Gut is at

I really have no idea how to utilize a Warlock to its fulliest. My output with him seems rather low and the non combat utlity I needed like flying, gas form, teleportation is already provided by Gale. Maybe its just me but I get the most out of the monk and barbarian in combat than any other class. I might need to research the other classes for combat
Warlocks are pretty powerful. I’m using one as my main character right now.

Pact weapon means you can become just as proficient as a fighter using your charisma bonus for hit and damage. Beef up your Eldritch blast every chance you get. I multiclassed into 3 levels of fighter with her so she’s stupid hard to hit, gets bonus hit points for killing things and has riposte. For spells I mostly use fireball right now. Hex is super good early game, so is cloud of daggers or whatever it’s called.

Eldritch blast is super good. I use it when I’m out of range for melee or to knock people off ledges. There was a fight towards the end of act 2 that had a bunch of archers up in the rafters firing down on me. I Eldritch blasted them all out of the rafters and they fell to their deaths lol

Is the game that good in the first couple of acts to warrant its score then? If the game feels rushed in Act 3 I wonder how it scored so well. I don't love Zelda as much as other people do but at least I haven't heard people say that the game falls off in the final act. Seems like a lot of devs frontload their games because they know reviewers won't play more than 40 hours since they've got other stuff to move on to.

From the reviewers I saw it was that good that they didn't care. I only looked at a couple though. This is more with the bugs though. I think while Act 3 feels a bit rushed it's one of those things where it's just a small complaint.

I beat the last Goblin last night after getting wrecked trying to go to the Underdark. I did get some oil barrels down there and use them on the last Goblin. Blew all of them away except for the boss and some weak guys in the back. The real issue was more and more mobs kept getting aggro. I guess I should have closed the doors maybe. Was still able to get it done but now I need to get the druid and all the goblins are trying to fuck with me. I rested and decided to just continue during my lunch break today.

I haven't tried multi-classing. I plan to do that with the monk build and probably will combine that with barbarian feats

I think I'm going to save that for later in the game. I found out I can respec also so I'll probably do that soon. I might go Open hand monk instead of shadow not sure yet though.

Any idea why Wyll only has 2 level 5 spell slots available to use and that's it? Even though I have spells ranging from one through five on him I can only use two level fives at all with him and my lower level spells are just automatically bumped up to five without giving me the option to use the lower versions. Is this a Warlock thing or did I do this unwillingly while leveling.

That’s correct; warlocks only have two spells at a time (3 I think at level 11?) and they can use them from any slot. Their strength is that they replenish every short rest. They also get Eldritch blast at unlimited uses which is pretty much better than any single target damage spell if you’ve been taking the upgrades for it

OK I did notice you get the spells back after a short rest which made me suspect it was intentional. Thankfully i have been upgrading his eldritch blast as it seemed like the Warlock bnb. Haven't been using him to often lately but cloud of daggers carried me early game

Got Baldur's Gate 3 on the PS5 now and decided to load it up to give it a try. Cross save works no issues but man do I prefer everything else about it on the PC. Unfortunately now for whatever reason my PC fucking goes ape shit and craps out after a few minutes of playing now. Not sure why, so I'm most likely gonna have to finish I'm the PS5.

Huge Baldurs Gate fan from back in the day. Haven’t bought 3 yet as I’ve been moving house and PC is packed up.

Should I play on PS5 (which is up and running) or wait a while for PC.

I can’t really understand how it works on console TBH - lining up multiple attack commands etc would take forever?

Game sounds amazing from what I’ve read.

Just started the game and I took 30 min just in character creation lol. I went forest gnome ranger beast master.

I’m still on the nautiloid, I think I’m just bout to meet La’zell. I killed the brain inside that dead looking guy. I got strange alien vibes like the face huggers and killed it lol

Got really far into the game today. I love the respec options in this game. I got off monk because I wasn’t enjoying it and went barbarian berserk. Much more my style.

I want to get rid of lazel too since I can’t stand her but that vampire dude isn’t cutting it so that will have to wait. I think that ghost guy offered a companion maybe that will work.

Yeah, you can buy hiring/custom companion for I think 100 gold or something like that to start. You do it through Withers at your camp

Yea I noticed but my group was full so I couldn’t even see my options. Looked online though and looks like it’s a lot of custom characters then I found out you could respec characters also.

I just spent two hours on a boss fight and it may be one of the greatest boss fights I've ever played in a game.
Act 3 Spoilers
The Raphael fight in the House of Hope. Went in there with Wyll, Gale, and Lae'zel. I would Misty Step with my PC and go right for the towers. While that was going down i used the invincible dome spell to stall for time with the rest of my team waiting for the towers to fall. That spell is OP. Also Summoned a Earth and Water Elemental with Wyll and Gale. This made me realize how invaluable summons are. No way in hell I would have won without them. Also Lae'zel is such a force of destruction. She was almost 2 shoting every mob there. And Hope was just spamming heals. I honestly didn't think I'd ever best it with her living. I don't think the game will top this fight for me. It was truly amazing
