Awful levels in otherwise great games....

I never had issues with it but a ton of people always complained about that famous vice City mission called "demolition man" where you have to fly the RC helicopter through the construction building.

Everyone I knew growing up that played vice City complained about that mission

Yea dude I thought that mission was easy....I thought beating the Sabre turbo to get the dude to join your heist was the hardest mission

What I think is that people's memories suck and that they are confused....the Har ones are given to you by zero in San andreas...like that one with the plane where you run out of gas was rage inducing.

Or people who complain about the driving in gta 4...that wasn't so bad either. I think some people just really suck at playing the actual story mode In that series.

I think the dam in the original Nintendo ninja turtles game deserves a spot on this list.

Recently I really hated the part of the mission in modern warfare where you gotta use the camera to guide that bitch past the terrorists. Took me way more tries to do that than it should have

Batmobile sections of Arkham Knight

Great game otherwise but they really force you to do some stupid stuff with the Batmobile.

I actually liked most of it, and didn't even mind the silly Riddler shit(constructing race tracks now, is he?). I think they really just went wrong with the cobra tank stealth garbage, and the Arkham Knight tunnel fight, which are absolute chores to complete. Outside of that, it's pretty fun to mess around with. The developers just fell way too in love with it, to the point of it becoming intrusive. I think if they just stuck to making it a fun diversion for power trips and side quests, instead of implementing it to such an extent of the main campaign, it would be remembered more fondly.

Which? Water Temple?

It’s unintuitive and basically grinds the game to a halt.
Ya, the water temple in OOT.
I guess I should amend my comment by clarifying- I don't like OOT as much as most people. I had a blast but I don't find it to be the flawless masterpiece everyone else does. I didn't think the Water Temple was great, but it may not have been quite as cold a shower for me since I didn't find the rest of the game to be jaw-dropping

Could be, I know I was just plugging along, loving the game and then was fucking with switches for the next hour. The remake they did on the 3DS does a tremendous job of making some quality of life adjustments to it that pretty much fixes it.

It was just super obtuse your first time through and a mark on an otherwise superb game when all the other dungeons were handled so much better.

But yeah, if you weren’t super into it I could see it not affecting your opinion as much.

Reminds me of Witcher 3 and putting on the stupid play.

It's not really the same thing as a level I suppose, but quests in an RPG seem pretty similar. Like escorting a Goat in Witcher 3 as well
The goat was far worse than the play or the FF7 beauty contest. At least they had elements of humor. The goat and the owner can go fuck off.

I guess I'm lucky that I played the GC version of OOT and had a strategy guide. This was over 4 years after the N64 original came out so I already knew about the legendary reputation of the Water Temple.

Drugs/hallucination levels in general.
I've never been shy about my love for Far Cry 5 but its worse moments were a result of this + campaign kidnappings, woozy time-trial escapes.

<{clintugh}>

MOH Allied assault - sniper level
GTA Vice City - RC missions
Last level in Q3 arena on nightmare

Any flying mission in GTA for me. Hate them so much. Cannot tell you how many times in San Andreas that I heard, “launch the Red Baron!”. Uhhhhhh
