So after seeing that idiotic janitor thread I did some math.

That's only reported pay. No locker room bonus, no reebok bonus. I know it's not a million dollars, but I'd take $54,000 for stepping into the cage one time.
Yeah there are people who make less, and way more. The point is, that's the average reported payout. Not $10,000 and not $25,000 a year.

Rory Mac made 59k as the favorite in a title fight that was an all time classic war

The UFC is like a Don King wet dream. Just a ripoff circus.

You have absolutely no information or sources you could use to back up that statement. His pay was released. It was 59k.

I don't need a source, I'm not claiming to know what he got paid, I'm just saying I doubt he got 59K for that fight. It's my opinion, based on the fact reported pay is only the minimum amount that fighter can receive.

Is it possible he only received 59K? Sure.

I wouldn't say it for a fact, however, and it doesn't seem that likely to me.

Thanks TS. What was the median pay?

This would be a better stat to report, less sensitive to outliers. Or remove the main eventers because they skew the distribution.

I agree. That 1 million chad vs conor fight had a very big effect on that average.

Those are numbers that are released from the athletic commissions. They do not cover locker room bonuses and any undisclosed money from Zuffa. Its actually probably quite more for champions, challengers and headliners.

High/low salaries (eg Chad given 500k for stepping in) can significantly affect the mean though

You can have one star who makes 250k-500k, and that inflates the average greatly. You could have GSP on the card making 4 mill and then say average fighter pay was 150k... but that doesn't accurately depict the issue. Go back to grade 2 math class...

I came into this thread expecting to see some actual math to make your point.

Instead you copy pasted a bunch of links and then made poorly thought opinion statements.

There are sources.

Fight of the Night: $50k
Reebook deal: $30k

Also he signed an exclusive Reebok deal that probably came with a signing bonus and extra cash for the fight.

Also he probably got a bonus from Dana.

People are still going on about those HUGE locker room bonuses? lol. Guaranteed it's nothing more than 20k.

Guaranteed it's nothing more than 20k.

that's a shitty guarantee since its not true.

Uncle Creepy and Sean Mccorkle have come out and said they received locker room bonuses that doubled their pay....even with a loss.

Feel free to google your heart out. there are a bunch of fighters that have talked about the locker room bonuses.

Fight of the night bonus's aren't dependable, and where does it say he made 30k on the reebok deal? I'm not doubting it I just haven't seen that. Even with fotn and the extra 30, that's 139k for a title fight\absolute war. Dana White gambles into the millions. Millions! While his fighters are making sweet fuck all.

All this whole "locker room bonus" bullshit has got to end. "Duhh, he probably got more, probably, in the locker room" - that means nothing. I can say he probably didn't get any more, because why pay more than you have too when you have a monopoly on the sport and have a guy already locked into a shitty contract? Neither of us has any backup for our claims, except mine actually make sense whereas yours are based on hopes and dreams.
