Him being on a planet is probably true, I just thought it would be bitter sweet/cool if he was sent inside the gem.

Honestly Mag you knew this movie was gonna be awesome from the opening scene. It was dark and badass right from the start, it never let up either.

Whenever people mention civil war battles they always talk about the final battle scene. Imo The other scenes with cap and BP & Falcon are really incredible. They aren't mentioned enough. The CA movies have the best action.

I believe the movie stands out becasue it captures the 'feel' of all the movies, flawlessly even. When the Guardians show up it becomes a Guardians movie. When it's Stark and Spidey (who was a stand out character) it's an Iron Man/Spidey movie. When Cap shows up it captures the feel and becomes a CA movie. Even BP, When they featured wakanda it had the feel of that movie as well and that only recently came out. It was like 5-6 different movies edited together to make one film. 9 times out of 10 that would be an awful movie, considering the cast size would make it an even bigger clusterfuck. Nope they did it flawelessly

And Ebony Maw was one of the best parts of this movie.

I liked all the Civil War action scenes. From the opening to the closing. One battle that I wasn't expecting but really liked in IW was Guardians vs. Avengers. Quill is kind of like budget iron man powers-wise but they used that moment to build his character and show he's a smart tactical guy. I still don't agree with him blowing the plan, that was a dumb moment while I was watching the movie, but they get props for the little Civil War in space scene.

And I completely agree about weaving the previous movies together. I loved the use of the BP theme and Rubberband man on the soundtrack. I think they showed it could work in Ragnarok when they went from Asgard to New York to Sakaar back to Asgard and then Space and then it segues into Infinity War where they continue on from space and go all over the place again.

I can't even imagine what they're planning for the second movie. How much time will pass between the movies is a mystery.

I'm just happy they're releasing it next year. 1 year seems like simultaneously a long and short time. Like how Thanos is both the greatest villain and the greatest hero.

That was the right move, filming them together

Are you going to watch Ant-Man? I'm curious to see how it does coming off the insanity that is Infinity War. I was surprised they didn't attach the teaser trailer when I watched IW.

Your first problem is you think "I came at you." Don't assume offense and then rant about. If you wanted to know what the numbers mean just respond "What do the numbers mean?" 616 is the comics line. 19999 is the movies. They're treated as different things.
Sorry, I got a little triggered... I felt like my question was such that it was obvious I knew nothing about the comic Marvel universe & you seemed to had replied over my head on purpose. To my point... someone who asks such a basic question will obviously not know what 616 or 19999 is... & your description I quoted above here would've been a more appropriate answer than your original.

To your point, if you didn't realize you were talking over my head & you didn't do it on purpose to make a mockery of my understanding then I apologize. I basically thought you were making fun of me by talking over my head & I got triggered.

Here are the original quotes.

I'm a bit confused here though... because in the comics, this story has played out all ready... however it played out differently.

So what's the deal with the comic? Are they real world or not? For example, I'm comfortable taking in Canon comics in the star wars universe knowing that they are "real world" events. (For lack of better words....) Star Wars calls it "Canon"... but is there such a thing in the Marvel universe? Do the Marvel comics actually have some sort of reality that makes them just as valid as the movies... or can a movie come along & wipe out an entire story line & re-write it?

I honestly don't know. I'm just a little confused with all this talk between the comics & the movie... when the comics don't exactly follow the movie.

I only bring this up with you on this post because if there is no continuity from comic to movie... then it really doesn't matter if he was called the "ultimate Avenger" in the comic.

The comics are universe 616, the mcu is universe 199999

There are multiple universes in the Marvel multiverse, all of which are designated by numbers. 616 is the "standard" universe from the comics. I'm not sure which number is designated for the Ultimate version of the Marvel Universe, but it's from that one that the films mostly draw inspiration.
A good description... thank you.

I think Antman and the Wasp will do pretty well. The first Antman is the lowest grossing MCU film released post Avengers 1 and 16th highest grossing overall at $520 million, but was still moderately profitable. The character got a lot of exposure in $billion earner Civil War, including getting his big moment during the airport fight scene. So far every MCU sequel has made more than the previous film, the only exception being Age of Ultron. So history has indicated that Antman and the Wasp will do better at the box office than Antman. I'd say a safe estimate is $600 million.

edit: it honestly has a decent chance to beat Justice League which is fucking hilarious.

so Red Skull was the old Templar Knight from Last Crusade essentially right?

shoulda dropped a 'choose wisely' IMO

He was the bridge keeper for the grail.

Why is it that the soul stone was the only stone that needed a prerequisite in order to attain it

Is that a comic book thing?

It certainly is the weirdest one.

multiple different universes.... 616 is the normal comics timeline. The MCU is its own seperate universe(199999)

Technically 616 WAS the main one. Now it's the Prime universe.

So is Thanos trapped inside the Soul Gem at the end or what?

I'm pretty certain that's where he is

I didn't get that impression. He definitely visited Gamora there though.

I think Thanos thinks his work is finally done and he can relax. That final scene reminded me of where he ends up in the Infinity Gauntlet after he loses the Gauntlet.

It will beat justice league.

Read an interview with Brolin today which gave me a whole new insight into Deadpool's zinger, "So dark! You sure you're not from the DC Universe?"

Brolin told the interviewer, "If it wasn't for Batman, we wouldn't be having this conversation". Turns out his Mom and Dad met on the set of the Batman TV series. Brolin went on to star in Jonah Hex, a move so stunningly bad not even he could stop it from crashing and burning. However, that didn't stop DC meeting with him and strongly considering him for the role of Batman in the DCEU before finally deciding on Affleck.

Another underrated funny moment from the film for me was the sheer annoyance Doctor Strange conveyed when he knew he was going to have to spot Wong the cash for a sandwich. Followed up by Wong's upbeat, "I wouldn't say no to a tuna melt."

Someone in the MCU has a thing for tuna; when Tony meets Harley in IM3, one of the things he asks for is a tuna sandwich;)

But yeah, the two play very well together. Strange's, "I'll see if they can make you a metaphysical sandwich" is Sherlock-level Snark:D

Is it safe to say critic scores are now irrelevant for movies? It seems like fans have a better idea to what a good movie is suppose to be. (Looking at you last Jedi and infinity war)

Critics keep getting it wrong while fans seem to know what’s up.

Most film critics are losers who wanted to work in the film industry but didn't have the talent or skills to get a real job. So they took the easy option.

I've pretty much ignored critic's for years. I put far more store by word of mouth from people I know.

Yo, we gotta talk about Thor’s body count. Over 1500? Surprised Thanos didn’t want to recruit him.
Also, how about the payoff with the eye? Did the writers know about that in advance?

He mentioned that he was over 1500 years old. I don't think he said body count.

I thought he said he killed more men than that. Maybe someone who has seen it more than once and clarify.
