Did he? I don’t remember what happened to the Collector after the illusion disappeared. I assumed he was just a part of the illusion and that the real Collector was probably dead somewhere.
yeah thats my guess also

I understand the individual words you used, but I don't understand what them put together means. I also don't understand the meaning of the numbers. I would actually be surprised if you expected that this post would make sense to someone who asked the question I did... but so I'm just letting you know my thoughts about your post.

If you did actually answer my question with some way over my head code... then you really didn't answer my question if I didn't understand it did you?
multiple different universes.... 616 is the normal comics timeline. The MCU is its own seperate universe(199999)

Clearly 616=/= 199999, so it means they're different.

To put it simply, whatever happens in the comics is not canon in the MCU or even in the other superhero movies. The movies just take inspiration from the comics and used it as their guide.
Well that's what I thought... & that's why I picked your particular response to ask the question, because you kind of submitted to the fact that something happened in the comic, & so that has some meaning in the movie. So I got a little confused with that particular response. I guess you were just having a bit of fun... so all good.

What's stormbreaker in nordic? They should have called it that. Also, it's nice to know Groot's english name.

Little behind on this and it’s probably been said, but I can’t see it being a coincidence that all the aging cast are still alive and all the newer member got turned to ash.
There’s going to be some route that everyone currently alive gets killed or rebooted and all the ash characters run the new marvel universe.

I really don't think Adam Warlock will even show up in Avengers 4. If he isn't given a proper introduction and build-up from a different movie, I wouldn't want him suddenly showing up in Avengers 4.
I agree, which is why I’m interested in how it will end. They might include him in a post credit scene, if it all. I can also see marvel continuing the thanos storyline later down the road. I just don’t want to wait a year damnit! Definitely one of the most badass characters in marvel.

you're just trying to be vague or showing off your background knowledge while trying to baffle someone who is asking a legit question. Do you feel smart now or something? If you can't explain it with real language then you don't understand it yourself imo.

Thank you for attempting to explain this... & I appreciate that... however, I still don't completely understand how it works.

What is the difference between the "multiple different universes"... & "The MCU Universe." Are you basically saying that the movies & the comics are different stories that don't have to match up.

All the bad jokes in Marvel movies are because of you.
And you're welcome.

There are multiple universes in the Marvel multiverse, all of which are designated by numbers.

616 is the "standard" universe from the comics.

I'm not sure which number is designated for the Ultimate version of the Marvel Universe, but it's from that one that the films mostly draw inspiration.

How the fuck are they going to include Adam warlock in all this? Captain marvel isn’t capable alone. Adam warlock is badass and probably the most important/powerful avenger, especially against thanos.
Ayesha is gonna try to use him to kill the Guardians in their third and final movie, then eventually he'll turn on her and save Gamora from the Soul Stone. Book it.

You wanted to know if they were different and yes they're different. Why is the comic this, but the movie that? It's because they're different. I'm not sure why you're being so sensitive.

I have some potential bad news for you.

the mcu universe is one of the multiple universes of Marvel. the different numbers are just an easier way of knowing which universe a comic is set in

the MCU takes inspiration from multiple universes. but its mostly from 616(because thats the main Marvel universe)

I'm a bit confused here though... because in the comics, this story has played out all ready... however it played out differently.

So what's the deal with the comic? Are they real world or not? For example, I'm comfortable taking in Canon comics in the star wars universe knowing that they are "real world" events. (For lack of better words....) Star Wars calls it "Canon"... but is there such a thing in the Marvel universe? Do the Marvel comics actually have some sort of reality that makes them just as valid as the movies... or can a movie come along & wipe out an entire story line & re-write it?

I honestly don't know. I'm just a little confused with all this talk between the comics & the movie... when the comics don't exactly follow the movie.

I only bring this up with you on this post because if there is no continuity from comic to movie... then it really doesn't matter if he was called the "ultimate Avenger" in the comic.
The comics are the source material for the movies, just like A Song of Ice and Fire is to Game of Thrones, and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is to Peter Jackson's films, etc.
