Of course I'd hit Nebula so hard she'd call me Daddy! That's not the point; dude was claiming she looked better in costume than in civvies.

maybe he really likes 'em bald and blue... lol

There wasnt anything inexplicable. He said in the movie his punishment is doled out randomly. 50% of all populations, gone. He didnt pick and choose.

I wasn't referring to the finger snap

i get Thanos's motives, both from here and the Comic (where he did to gain the attention/love of Mistress Death, as more people were alive at the time than had ever died in history due to population growth).....

What I don't get is like 'no foresight/planning regarding the elimination of half the population?' Tons of different planets/races/cultures many of which provide positive benefits while many are warlike and detrimental to other's survival.....

like let's use Earth for example, does it make sense to eliminate half Wakanda and half of say Central African Republic? why not all of CAR and let the more advanced Wakanda be spared, since his whole goal is to stem overpopulation (and presumably pollution, lack of natural resources, etc...) and ish like that?

or like get the time stone, and meditate like Dr Strange did to find the best possible outcome for purging half of the world.....anything. Bueller?

I think the picking and choosing wouldn't be balanced... Half is half at random selection... no more no less. what happens afterwards doesn't matter. Thanos was obsessed with balance.

Coincidentally speakin' my mom used to tell me that I was also obsessed with equal shares and fairness. My mom would give me a sandwich and tell me to split it with my brother and I would split it exactly in half and take an extraordinary amount of time making the halves were exactly equal. No wonder why I like Thanos so much.. lol

except that would inherently not be balanced......

India clearly has a much larger overpopulation issue than the nonexistent one in Canada for instance
stemming half the people wouldn't fix the infrastructure and other issues that pervade these places already, which is the whole reason why he's doing this....

Wow wasn't sure if that was an act or what. Glad I never saw that. It's funny because my wife kept trying to show me all these sort of videos of the cast and I kept telling her I didn't want to see any of that. She was like "They wont spoil anything" I was like bitch if the talk about the movie they are spoiling shit for me.

I realize that, I said I 'don't get it'

given his motives, it's makes absolutely zero sense to 86 half of the population of say Iceland AND India......

I'm not sure why it makes zero sense. He isn't trying to make it so that only the "best" people live. He's trying to make it so that there is enough resources for everyone. For that to work he just needs to kill half doesn't matter what half.

What part of Mad Titan don't you get?;)

Thanos' plan was inherently flawed. He admits that the culling is random; rich and poor, young and old. So an alcoholic retard stands an equal chance of survival as a brilliant inventor.

It's balanced and fair from the Thanos point of view... lol

In all seriousness if I had the power and I HAD to wipe out half of the population i'd be very hard for me not to make it random. My bias would come into play and i'd save all the children and women first but that would mean most of the adult males (if not all of them) would be wiped out. Is that fair? probably not. no matter how you pick and choose, it wouldn't be more fair than what Thanos did because he made it random.

Bro, do you still want a sick Infinity War av like mine?

which made sense in the comics, as he was merely trying to get more souls for Mistress Death

but in this context, where it seems he hated the overpopulation and pollution or whatever on Titan and other places.....

I get the 'mad' part, but even like a modicum of foresight coulda made this a substantially more efficient plan

stop postulating about losing more than half of the grimy chicks...

yes sir!... what are you offering?.. not that I care but I ultimately want the scene where he throws the moon..

I got mine the day the first Infinity War trailer dropped. I started a thread in the Support sub-forum, where you can ask for things like custom avatars. I suggest you do the same. Some of the regulars over have mad skills:cool:

the only 'problem' which not really a problem but maybe I just misunderstood this:

I felt like they didn't really do a great job of portraying Thanos as actually loving Gamora....respect and sympathy yes, but love? Which is why she clearly got all cocky saying 'ha, you love nothing, nobody' or whatever. Granted she could just be really jaded, or just not understood things as a kid, but she seemed to not even contemplate that she'd be the answer to that puzzle.....

Was that just me?

One would think that a person sociopathic enough to kill half of the world and think they're in the right... might not even be able to feel actual 'love', right?

Agreed. It's not how I would have done it, given his power.

But of course, the other problem is one of scale. He's trying to effect massive change on the entire universe at once. Fine-tuning the culling would take time he didn't feel he could spare.

Seems like Thanos needs to come up a better.... Anti Life Equation.
