Locked AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR v.1 (New Set Photos)

Well Bucky is on ice, and Sam was Cap's coconspirator. So the only logical choice would be someone new.

John Walker - US Agent.

I wonder how close they'd stick to the source material on that one? IIRC, Walker is a far more violent and racist version of Cap. At one point, his parents are murdered in front of his eyes and Walker kills the terrorists responsible. He then sits cradling his parent's corpses, talking to them as though they are still alive...

I've gotten to the point where I can read your posts and without looking, know it's you. Lol always dropping straight up comic knowledge.

I don't know, seems kind of pointless without Cap. I'm not even that fond of the character, and i know Evans wants to get out for quite some time now, but still... At least make Sam the new Cap...

Evans will just be playing Nomad until he has no other choice but to don the Shield.

That was one of my favorite uniforms he had, I suppose I meant that uniform, just in black. The star doesn't make as much sense now that he's not captain America. I guess that's what I was getting at.

Or we could have this iteration of Cap...

Girl we need some action, if we're gonna make it like a true survivor...

CA better be picking up Mjolnir and hitting Thanos in the face with it, and then he can die heroically, that being his final act to make the Avengers whole again.

Well, the damage has already been done unfortunately and the wind taken out of the sails of how epic that would have been. But I would definitely still like to see it.

I am at a stage, that if they don't do it, i'm never watching another Marvel movie again.

I mean, how can they not do it?? They tease us in AoU, they have this fight and he leaves (in Civil Disagreement) and now in Infinity war Cap just has to beat Thanos. He just has to. And no better way to do it than by not showing up in Part I and showing up in part II (or "This time it's personal" or whatever they decide to call it) like a perfect deus ex machina with combination of Wakandan tech and him actually handling the Mjolnir.

Maybe Panther will give Cap a vibranium suit?

I don't see him having any chance against Thanos without it. But hey, i've been known to be wrong. Once or twice ;)

Ooh... will he pick it up? Use the Iron Patriot suit while Rhodie is still rehabbing?

I can't see Rogers using a Stark suit, but I won't rule anything out. That's pretty clever thinking, though.

yeah but i thnk you're not getting whats happenin, this is not about chris evans leaving the role of cap

its about steve rogers dropping (albeit temporarily) the role of of cap

evans did say that after all ths is done, he is done acting or wants to retire or something to that effect.

He repudiated his retirement comment.

Yeah i do get that, maybe my wording (or mentioning Evans) was a bit off. What i tried to say was that IMO it doesn't make sense for him (Cap) to completely vanish. The same was in my head after IM3. What, he just blows up every suit? To appear never again? I don't buy it. Same here: yeah, things are kind of in a limbo considering the final events of Civil war, but i don't think anyone believes phase 3 ends without him participating.

He repudiated his retirement comment.

Kind of hard to believe he was not forced to do that by Marvel/Disney/Fiege. But we shall never know, i guess.

Don't make me look up the meaning of 'repudiate' you sonofabitch

I had to, being a non-native speaker and all. It checks out.

SPOILERS

In the comics he faces down Thanos as Captain America. He has no shot at winning but it is one of the ballsiest moves in comics history. Obviously, his shield gets obliterated and he is killed.

Sorry, other way around, Stark using the shield and adopting the title. Like as an ego thing to be even more beloved and/or as a dig at Cap

Nah, it's not happening like that, unless they go based on Stark's vision from AoU. I'd love to see that moment, though. Silver Surfer saved him in the comics, I wonder if they'd pull an MCU equivalent to that.

Oh, wow. What a heel move that would be. lol

I can believe it. He's said himself that he's scared of life without the Cap role. That lead to him saying he'd stick around as long as they'd have him. As you said, though, we'll never truly know.
