I am interested to what direction the Russo's take things, their Captain America films whilst they did have the "team" aspect to them as with Wheadons Avengers did tend towards having a tighter focus zeroing in on a smaller number of characters. I wonder whether Infinity War might go the same direction and rather than throwing everything at us across two films you'll get part 1 focusing on certain characters then part 2 on others.

They are saying way more then that number. The rumor is that Robert Downey Jr. Is pulling down 100 to 200 million for both films alone.

"At a recent African American Film Critics Association luncheon (via Atlanta Business Chronicle), Pinewood Studios co-owner Dan Cathy mentioned that a movie is filming at Pinewood Atlanta Studios that has a $1 billion production budget. Cathy wouldn’t name the movie, but, but given that Disney has rented out most of the facility for the next year for Avengers: Infinity War and the yet-to-be-titled sequel (Avengers 4). I can’t imagine he was talking about any other production shooting in Atlanta or anywhere else in the world. I also assume that the budget he is quoting is for both films, which are shooting together over the next 9 or 10 months."

This number really not that outrageous give that Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed there by Disney and cost 342 million to film alone.

Disney also hinted this is Roberts swan song and Disney will be finished with what was a 10 year run. Not to worry they have a post Infinity War deal with him and that over the life of the deal could be worth 1 billion to Robert Downey Jr.

Apparently this is tied to things like using his likeness on very likely Infinity War related rides like the Ironman ride in Shanghai. Also tied to use of his likeness on toys and video games.

The 4 billion dollar purchase of Marvel Studio by Disney was likely a result of how well Ironman did even more so then X-Men and comics ever did based on this news.

They really wanted to keep Downey around but also may explain why other actors run is ending like Chris Evans. No doubt in middle of film contract deals and looking for Downey like paydays.

I am sure Disney thought of this as a one time thing given the size and importance of Ironman to the Marvel brand.

Going forward Disney is likely going to find a way for someone to carry the Ironman suit post Infinity War thing comic book teen girl hacker.

That ride looks great. Looks like the same system Disney uses for Star Tours though this ride seems a lot longer. Hope they bring it to the U.S.
