Lol we have nothing to discuss then. You misread my post. Re-read what I was chatting about..

And I didn’t start arguing with u. You replied to my post first.
Do not mistake me making the first reply to you with me starting the argument between us. As I showed you, my first replies were very harmless & in the vein of "discussion."

you clearly started our beef by telling me I couldn't read properly... & as expected... I reacted. You drew first blood. I've told you before & I'll tell you again... that is on you & you need to quit trying to push it off like I started a beef. i was just asking questions & explaining things how I saw them & you didn't know how to properly explain yourself.

If I'm being really honest with you... I would say that you are drunk posting.

It's all good, we can't all like the same things.

Part of the reason I like the LOTR movies and the MCU both is because I get to see some of my favourite text based stories from way back come to life in a visually stunning manner. Some of the older screen adaptations of both Tolkiens works and Marvel stuff were just pure dog shit.

Ferigno's the man, but there's just no comparison.

Marvel has actually I think started to do a much better job in terms of buidlign atmosphere in recent years but yeah this is obviously a lot of the strength of LOTR. If you don't enjoy slowly built up atmospheric locations your not likely to enjoy the books or the films of the latter as they obviously spend a great deal of time on this.

The books don't even come close. Tolkien's novels are, to put it bluntly, fucking boring. I read them after I watched the movies, and was massively disappointed. GRRM has his faults as an author, but at least he can write a battle scene.
LOTR is about a journey, not battle scenes, ya simpleton.

I do wish there was a true military moment for Cap, Bucky, Falcon and War Machine. The first three have worked together previously, but all 4 of them working together would've been epic for me.

War Machine's bomb strafing run on the Wakandan border/barrier was his cool moment in the movie and I was digging it.

Cap and Bucky or Cap and Panther should have double teamed the big guy and took him out.

They were all massively underused.

Sorry to derail this thread even more, but Tolkien basically created the fantasy genre the way we now know it. He gets a ton of credit for that, but his works have been surpassed. Coparing it to BJJ, I'd say Tolkien was like the Gracie family, but GRRM is like the Xande Ribeiro. In a straight up matchup, Xande would sub Rickson, but Rickson and the Gracies will go down in history for introducing the world to BJJ.

In other words: boring as fuck.

Ya hippie;)
I can see the value in both. The Marvel movies are basically Transformers with 1 dimensional "fish out of water" character interplay. It's all well done though. Literally every joke in the films is the exact same, but they are funny.

LOTR's world building is on a completely different level.

By the way, both times i saw this i was the ONLY one that laughed at the Grimmus insult.

Do you guys know the reference?

I got the reference and laughed, but you’re right, very few people laughed or seemed to understand, as opposed to the Squidward reference by Tony that almost everyone but me laughed at (I didn’t laugh because I’ve never watched Sponge Bob ever).

The first L.O.T.R had me falling asleep in the theatres. I never knew that it was possible for me to sleep in the theatres while a loud movie is being played. 2 hours of guys staring in to each other's eyes isn't what I call quality world building.

I didn't realize the Mantis Actress had quite the history, a bit tragic but interesting.

Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, to a Korean mother and French-Russian father, who was working there as a consul with the French government.[3]She had a brother who committed suicide.[4]Her parents chose the name "Pom" because it is similar in pronunciation to the Korean words for both "spring" () and "tiger" ().[4]Klementieff lived in Canada for one year before her family traveled extensively due to her father's job.[5] They lived in Japan and the Ivory Coast, before settling in France. Klementieff later said that travelling at an early age gave her a "gypsy soul".[4][5]

Klementieff's father died of cancer when she was 5, and her mother was schizophrenic and unable to care for children,[4] so Klementieff was raised by her paternal uncle and aunt.[3]Her uncle, whom she described as "like my second father", died on her 18th birthday.[4]Klementieff briefly attended law school after her uncle's death to appease her aunt but did not find the career path appealing. She also worked as a waitress and saleswoman in France.[4] She started acting at age 19 at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris. A few months into her education, she won a theater competition that awarded her free classes for two years with the school's top teachers

In that case stay far, faaaar away from Jordans Wheel of Time series. Lots of "fat" in those books.

Anyways, this is the first ever movie I've seen twice in theatres. Some thoughts-

-Field trip? Future? Couldn't tell.
-The children of Thanos were bad ass. The best versions of the heroes up to this date had their hands full with them, and could only take them out via team work.
-Finally Thor is the elite hero he's supposed to be! About damned time. Maybe too much of one? Just about takes out Thanos with a fully loaded glove? Nein nein nein!! And Ms Marvel is supposed to be more powerful? Derp, I say, but will not pass judgement until the movie comes out.
-Drax is great, and Dave Bautista is a hella comic talent.
-I'm glad they took this route with Thanos instead of the comic one. Makes him more relatable. Brolin and the cgi crew knocked it out of the park.
-Hope Thor doesn't get pink eye. Lol. Seems lots of people missed that little gem. Hilarious.
-Glad for the dark feel of this movie. Makes it a great flick, not just an excellent comic book movie.
-I'm a middle aged man who ducked out of work to see it by myself, sat there like a little kid watching a magic show, and didn't notice the time go by. That's as high a praise as I can give a movie.
-9+ out of 10.

Didn't even stay the whole time huh? Wow. My kid told me she wasn't as impressed as everyone else. Too much hype ruined it for her. I have yet to see it. I was going to wait until I had to see Infinity War but I didn't want to risk getting spoiled.
TBF, I left right at the end. There is a big fight scene and a really corny element unfolded and I:

Even up to that point it was underwhelming and not very cohesive. I thought they did a really bad job of making T'Challa look like the absolute boss he's supposed to be. The villain and his dad were both great, especially the dad. That dude might be the next Denzel.

A bit tragic? That's quite the understatement. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
