The soul stone can control life and death. So he needed it to kill everyone. He also uses it to turn a bunch of rubble into flying creatures on Titan. I think he used the space stone on Banner at the end to phase him into the rock.

Banner told the Avengers who Thanos is. And Strange told Banner all about the stones when he was in the sanctum. People suspect that Strange saw that Tony was essential to the 1 victory outcome he saw and that's why he gave up the stone for his life.
That makes sense, thanks for answering my questions.

Another wtf when I was watching when they revealed red skull still being alive in space. He should definitely be old, dead, or both

Here you go sir. Everything you need to know about the road to IW.

wow that video is really good. I guess they did it chronological in the history but not the films? because spiderman came after dr strange but he explained spiderman first before strange.

oh well

Guys, so is Benedict Cumberbatch the best Avenger or what? I think he is tbh.
By way of the time stone, yeah he is and easily.

He also has the best win in the MCU vs. Dormammu

But without the time stone then he has nothing for Thor.

The infinity stones are super OP, him with the time stone can in theory beat anyone up until celestial and higher being.

He was a vapor..a mist... Not alive

Okay I'm late to the party but I'm up to date. I'm going to have an unpopular opinion here but I think the movie was just okay-ish I guess.

The good: Movie was fun with good interactions among the characters, Thanos was a good villain, effects were top notch most of the time.

The bad: Predictable, no consequences and no real stakes.
Lesser complains: the feel of disjointed clips glued together, the movie that leads to the actual movie clear part 1 and 2.

I'm a Marvel fan for the most part and my favorite movies are the Guardians movies, Iron Man movies, Strange movie and of course first Avengers and Civil War. (I did had fun with the recent Thor and BP ones too but I see them lesser then the top ones)

For this Avengers 3 movie my own score for it will be around 6.5 or 7 out of 10.

Spoilerly nitpicks, comments, ideas etc if you will down bellow:

- the bad guys sidekicks were disappointing for the most part, bland, lower CGI, no fun, no real detail put to them the only exception is the old man alien Wizard he was the only saving grace for that squad

- do this early killings count for something stabbings, strangulation and what not or are they just fake outs.. that Loki dude died a few times already

- liked the Tony Strange dynamic

- another top notch paring was Thor with the Guardians

- felt strange on some power dynamics like Vision and the Witch were kinda weak compared to Cap and Widow that got upgrades or something, they got saved by the weaker ones the heck is happening next thing you know you got Hawkeye saving Thor

- good work with humanizing and giving some character and motivation and soul into Thanos and playing and developing that Gamora background story

- Starlord and Gamora worked out great, anything with the Guardians interacting with the other characters was done good (might be a tad biased towards them I reckon)

- Thanos is a major dick to poor Nebula don't know how can he love one daughter so much but dislike the other so much "my children" well some more then others

- nice use of the little role that Peter Dinklage had a giant cosmic dwarf c'mon now :D man that dude has some legit acting chops and charisma

- strange to have Red Skull back.. I mean who really cares about him and the heck was he doing there felt more like something of a blast from the blast remember that guy.. (yea I know there are 2-3 fans on this boards that probably dieded when they saw him :p)

- Thanos crying and sacrificing Gamora was a good moment I hope they stick with it (even if it sucks so bad to have done with the Guardians) but having her back will take away from this moment and make it feel empty if they play a "well you didn't saw her die didn't you know she is still there trapped in limbo some where".. so bitter sweet moment that I can appreciate if they commit to it.

- the heck did Shuri do again ? so is Vision a-okay cause Shuri handled it so he can live without the stone in the next movie or just waste of time

- a tad better mass CGI enemies / monsters this time around then the last mass robots in Ultron I guess every big culmination movie needs to have them you can't really avoid it cause the heroes need something to kick ass and look good. Good be that I'm starting to be a big numb to this type of stuff by now but didn't it feel less epic and culminating this time around like we kinda got to see this type of stuff so many times by now I don't know like I said I know you can work around it and it's needed.

- Black Panther was a big nothing to me this go around, liked him best in Civial War to be honest I feel from all this Wakanda forever stuff his sidekick/bodyguard Michonne from the walking dead stole the show.

- so freaking StarLord is responsible for killing half of the universe ? he lost it and decided to pistol whip Thanos (like good luck with that) and he destroyed the last change they had to take that gauntlet away from him, he knew Gamora is in danger, he was ready to off her himself to protect the universe at her request yet in the heat of the moment he done goofed so bad... James Gunn the heck happened dude they shit on Peter he was whiny and bratty and a massive mistake on his part to end the world. But wait Strange saw this outcome and picked it, guess shitty Peter Quill is whats needed from 14+ million of options, great..

- a bit confused with Thor's last movie so half the cast in that movie is gone now I guess (they didn't want to clip them 30 sec or something) and didn't he evolve enough in that movie to show us that he always had it inside of him and the hammer was something that could contain / channel whatever his power ? guess he still needs a weapon for better results but kinda takes away from the point of that movie to me now

- Tony's suit is so strange with the power-ups so you telling me now this necklaces suit is way better then the old ones ? that he is taking powerful blows from freaking Thanos with a gauntlet with many stones in it and yet a few movies ago freaking Cap and Bucky did kinda more damage to it ?.. eh nitpick things but overall power fluctuation on characters across the board and lack of consistency.

- Strange had a cool battle and decided to give up the stone all according to his plan I guess hence making the end of the movie empty and without consequences and importance for me.

- Hulk has performance issues, used it as a gag earlier but after Thanos out-powered him he ain't feeling it so they never used him again, I'm neutral on this I'm not such a fan of Banner but whatever I guess.

- didn't feel nothing for the Wanda - Vision love story, I guess it's better then nothing they put something in there so some of strings to move the heart but it didn't work for me.

- was cool to see that Thanos spared Wanda when he had his hand on her made him look like he isn't just randomly killing people he has some sort of code I guess then again he randomly kills half of the universe oh well never mind xd

- once again upgraded Thor was close to ending this thing but I guess it's better to aim at the brain then heart if he even has one

- ending like Thanos foreshadowed depressing but not really we all know BP ain't out, Guardians ain't all dead (except the rabbit) etc just empty no emotions no drama just fake-out

- come back in part 2 of the movie to see Strange's plan and see how we revive them all back next summer.. ps: what happens to the earlier stabbed ones or Gamora well speculate and talk it out see you next year.

- post credit scene a Samuel L. Jackson moment and a wink on the Captain Marvel movie that I'm sure our boy Dragon already has the hype to the max for it. :D

The bad: Predictable, no consequences and no real stakes.

Why that facky Scarlett Witch drop her Russian accent?

My assumption is because it was easier for not to do it lol. I think it was pretty clearly getting downplayed in Civil War as compared to Age of Ultron. This was the natural progression.

I was just glad Olsen had a lot to do and delivered. It's really amazing to me how so many of these characters had significant parts. I kind of figured a bunch were going to get short-changed or glorified cameos. But the vast majority had awesome moments/scenes in the film.

I can't think of a comic book film that better balanced the characters than this one off the top of my head. The original Avengers and Civil War were certainly in that vein, but this one to an even greater extent.

When the fate of the universe is not high enough stakes hahah

anyone catch thanos scarecrow with the armor at the end? didnt notice it until the 2nd viewing

I don't think anything will ever beat Avatar unless some new age technology comes out and captivates the world where we can watch films in some kind of 4D or something.

I fully expect IW to cross over the 2 billion mark, 100% maybe even 2.1/2.2 billion.
Do you mean adjusted for inflation or not? Because unadjusted it's inevitable that something will someday surpass Avatar due to the nature of inflation. If you mean adjusted for inflation than Avatar was never the biggest earner.

Not adjusted, Gone With the Wind I believe is the true #1

But with TFA, Jurassic World and we'll see where Infinity War ends up, I don't see a movie topping 2.7 billion in a cinema run not atleast for the foreseeable future.

Said this as soon as I heard it and people were like, "it wasn't that noticeable." Yes it was.

It was a horrible accent to begin with though, but I wish they would've explained what happened there.
