8/8.5 out of 10

I laughed alot and overall it was really good

By far the best Avengers movie

As far as comic book movies go, I have this in my top 2.

Kick Ass 1
Avengers infinity war
Batman Begins
Spider Man 2 (Toby McGuire)
Iron Man 1

That was my problem with it too a little bit. You already kinda know whats going to happen in the 2nd now unless they turn this on its head. I felt it took away from the impact of those deaths at the end.

just watched a news clip that details zoe saldana as being more of a focal point in the next gotg than chris pratt so ya know she isnt staying dead

9.5/10. Shit my pants. Going another 5 times at least

It definitely took away from the impact. The entire feeling of the movie changed when Strange offered up the stone for Tony's life. They just made it too obvious.

out of all the things i can talk about from the movie, I really loved the whole Thor/Star-Lord back and forth, shit cracked me up

guess thats really not a spoiler, but oh well

eh Scarlett Witch is one of the most powerful members of the Avengers...... she is capable of changing reality altogether, she is actually underpowered in the movie.
compared to the last 2 movies she was in, I would disagree. In civil war and avengers 2 shes shown to be struggling with 1 or 2 enemys and in this shes able to whipe out waves of troops like nothing. Granted it was after watching vision die but it still felt a little out of place. I did like the comment "where was she at the beginning?" Im not comparing to the comics, just the two movies we have seen her in. [\spolier]

I especially liked Thor calling Rocket "Rabbit" throughout the movie :P

not really, in Civil war she was kept locked up because she was too dangerous..... and then she literally knocked Vision through the floor. It would make sense that in the time period since we've seen her she has become more adept at using her full powers(and even then, she still hasnt hit her full power imo)

I like those two movies but your attempt at shitting on this movie is really weird.

I don't really see how anyone can make an objective case for those being better movies. This movie was gripping and exciting from beginning to end.
No one can make an objective case for any movie being better than any other. That's not what objective means.

I still think The Avengers is the best Avengers movie.

Was I the only one a little dissapointed in this movie? With all the hype and everything I was a little let down. I think the trailers showed a little too much. I knew there were going to be two seperate battles just based on the look of the planets from the trailers. Dont get me wrong, Thanos and his guys were bad ass but it somehow fell a little flat. I also want red skull back for #4, that was a cool surprise. A lot to take in...I understand why that didnt say this is a two parter but it really is. Also, certain people felt overpowered compared to other movies, namely scarlett witch. The thor plotline to get the axe was a little too long and un-necessary. I still give it a 8/10 but its like i thought at the end of the movie, this may have been better if it came out a few years ago. The superhero fatigue may be a real thing.

I liked it a lot but something was missing, i cant quite put my finger on it. Nitpicking in spoilers. still 7.5-8/10.
It isn't.

Im guessing that the story will be them trying to bring her back to life, that is if she doesnt get brought back in A4

<mma4> I can see that...Fair enough.

just wanted to ask
is Korg dead? where is Valkyrie? wtf was the point in saving everyone at the end of Thor if they were all going to die?

I gave it a 9 but it should probably be 8.5. I feel like a lot of what happened was just so they could circumvent expectations. Almost everyone who died is going to come back since they have movies, so really the stakes were nothing.

Let’s talk about Loki sacrificing himself and his decision to prevent Thor from being killed.

I am basically fine with it because they established in Thor 1 that he was the #2 man in Thor’s squad of warriors. They must have been palling around for a millennium. In Avengers 1 Thor kept asking Loki to switch back to his side and was willing to trust him based on their long background fighting together.

Loki has never shown any concern for human lives and I basically understand that: Thor is literally the only Asgardian who actually ever gives much of a shit about Earthling mortals. In his mind imo he thinks of himself as more mischievous than malevolent.

Loki’s motive from the start hasn’t been to screw with Thor for fun and on a more serious note to take the #1 spot in Asgard by displacing Thor or failing that establishing his own kingdom on Earth, likely in order to gain respect and prestige in Asgard.

So why risk his life to try to kill Thanos?

Well.
He would be more of a legendardy Warrior than his brother if he succeeded. And he probably figured Thanos wouldn’t accept him into his service anyway, after the debacle in New York. Thanks trusted him enough with an infinity stone and Loki didn’t deliver.

And Asgard just blew up - it was Loki’s fault in a lot of ways and he was probably shaken up and not thinking straight. It’s a lonely eternity for him if he can’t torture Thor/give him an occasional hug.

It was fairly out of character for Loki to make a move against Thanos but at the same time, it makes enough sense in context that I can forgive it.

yet you cant even see its similarities with TLOU?

which shows you dont know anything about games and this shows you know nothing about superhero movies

You just can’t accept that someone thinks it’s a bad movie? I have seen every MCU movie and don’t like the Avengers. I never said GOW didn’t have similarities to TLOU by the way. You take this shit too seriously.

why have you watched them all if you dont like superhero movies? wtf is wrong with you?

I dont like horror movies.... guess how many I watch? none, because I dont like them. Maybe stop trying to be edgy and stop watching things you dont like

The Russo's showing that whilst they've become known as the "serious" Marvel directors they did actually write Welcome to Collingwood, actually some of the funniest Marvel banter since the original Guardians film for me.

I find any definitive rating for this kind of thing soon after one viewing very tough to give but at the very least I'd say this was an excellent film up there with the best Marvel so far, its more a question of does it finally break into the real original Starwars/LOTR level blockbuster level or not.

Honestly I always felt that in a lot of ways this was a pretty horrible situation for writers having to throw together such a massive amount of characters with so many different tones to them so in that respect I think its a massive success for the Russo's, certainly shows Wheadon up big time in how messy his Ultron became with much less to juggle.

Spilting the characters up into manageable sub groups was definitely the correct decision but I think was really made to work both by not intercutting between those groups too often(felt like they'd been watching Game of Thrones) and using Thanos to tie all of the stories together effectively.

If I had an issue with the film it would be that the action climax felt a bit too long. I mean it wasn't really that it got repeatitivie as there generally something new happening ever few mins but just the length of it started to feel a bit deadening, films like Return of the Jedi or Two Towers/Return of the King I felt delt with this a bit better throwing in more lulls in the action.

As far as the climax goes I mean yeah it does pretty much garentee a cosmic reset button in the second film but honestly I'm not sure I buy into the "many characters had to die" talk. Just doing that for the sake of it to me feels rather cheap, I mean Vision being "dead dead" would certainly work if that's the case and maybe you could argue Loki from previous films but besides that I'm not seeing the need, good storytelling has tension regardless.

What was very obvious I think though is the choice of characters who were "wiped out", basically the Russo's get to temporarily thin out the crowd and pick out the characters they want to work with in what I'd imagine will be a sequel that gives each more time and has a more conventional structure.
