If I didn't like the first two avengers that much, but love gotg and the last thor, will I like this?

You will like this - no doubt - the only question is to what degree. Since you liked GotG and Thor Ragnarok, this movie has elements of their tone and sense of humor. I dunno, man, I think you will give this at a 8, lowest is 7.

My best friend went and saw this tonight. Texted me afterwards said it was the best movie he'd seen in years and that I was going to love it.

59 hours to go. Fuck me.

Thanks for this response, and all your efforts around here. We probably don't say it enough. I'll go see it 2maro.

As you wish lol

Just some random thoughts.

I have said in a previous post that the battle in Wakanda was rushed. They should've allotted some scenes on how bad-ass Cap's new shields were since they focused on it in the trailers.

Isn't Adam Warlock going to show up in guardians 3 in 2020 ? So not him.

My guess:
Dr Strange & time gem shenanigans
Vision in a mind gem shenanigans
Gamora in a soul gem shenanigans

Not sure if it was answered, but how many after scenes are there?
One only. Two if you count the special edition that I watched with the shocking Melissa McCarthy ending.

If Melissa McCarthey shows up, I will find each and every one of you. I don't know what I would do WHEN I find you, but I will......

Appreciate it. Just temper your expectations to a more realistic level going in the movie.

Yeah, agreed with what @KnightTemplar said. For me, I think BP is essential because it introduces various supporting characters that will show up in Infinity War, makes it more enjoyable. But if you have some basic understanding of Wakanda and some of its characters like Shuri and the Dora Milaje from the comic books, you'll be fine. Besides, if you really can't see BP now, you have no choice to might as well dive into Infinity War.
Thank you, we've got a couple of the Marvel encyclopedias too so I'll get reding this morning!

Just got back from the movie. It was a non stop dog fight, I loved it. Thanks is relentless. 15 years of Marvel Movies, and with all the hype in the world and expectations, and Marvel knocked it out of the park. I don’t think I will ever be THIS excited for a Movie again. Avengers 4 is gonna be great.

I need to watch this again to give it a proper rating.
A LOT was going on in this movie, and it is unlike any other movie. This is very much Thanos' movie, so it's hard to really think of it in the same way I would other MCU movies, or really any movie that is a 'good vs. bad'. Movies don't typically spend too much time showing the point of view of the villain.

The movie has been described as "relentless",and I think that that is a very apt description. From start to end, the movie keeps going.

I love that this movie didn't baby the audience. There were no softballs here, or time wasted rehashing things. This movie expected you to be in the know. If you didn't watch the other Marvel movies, you can't possibly have the same feels and understanding of what is happening in this film.
I thought the movie did an excellent job of showcasing every character, and keeping their personalities and motivations intact. Which is pretty amazing considering how many characters are in this movie. I didn't feel like anyone got short-changed, or hamfisted in here. Everyone had their part. Compare IW to TLJ or Justice League. The Batman from BvsS was not the same Batman in JL. The characters in TFA were not the characters in TLJ. In IW, they did a great job of keeping the individual character's personalities and motivations intact.

Brolin absolutely killed it. I enjoyed the hell out of his performance, and I honestly wanted to see more of him than any other character in the film.
I'll try to catch the movie again over the weekend.

I absolutely loved all of the attention to detail this movie did. They really spent time on making Thanos a scary character.
The opening scene with him beating the shit out of the Hulk was superb.
And the way he killed Loki. He slowly just chokes the life out of him, and Loki is in the air, legs wiggling, struggling to get out, that was some good shit.

*I think that they may have just made an interesting opening and dynamic between Hulk and Banner. Hulk is too scared to come out. He always thinks of Banner as weak--but it's actually Banner that is fighting here in the Hulk Buster. Perhaps this opens a door for them to coexist? Hulk gets a newfound respect for Banner?

As I mentioned above, I love how each character stayed consistent. Seeing the brutality of the Hulk, the tech of IronMan, the cunning of Starlord, the agility of Spiderman, the creativity and mysticism of Dr. Strange, etc, etc...it was really well done. It was awesome to see the respect given to the characters that were built--and that they were not given the Rian Johnson treatment.
--I also had a full on boner during the Wakanda war scene. When Captain America and Black Panther full on sprint to lead the charge--i was like "Ohhhh shiiiiieeeet"

*Ebony Maw was awesome. I loved him.

*The interactions between the characters were awesome.

*I love that things did not go the way things are "supposed to go" in hero movies. In a typical hero movie, Shuri would have separated the mind stone from Vision in time, and he would have been able to help in the battle...but..nope...Thanos rips it from his skull instead, and leaves him a dead husk.

*This movie could really be a standalone movie. There isn't any set in stone rule that says "the bad guy" can't win. Thanos accomplished his goal, and retired. The end. Roll credits.

Complaints
*Steve Rogers should have been in a coma after taking a punch from Thanos.

*They gave Thanos A LOT of screentime, and i love that, but I would've liked to have gone a bit deeper into WHY this quest was so important to him. Why did he feel a need to balance the universe?
Ebony Maw acted like Thanos' head priest--but they didn't really seem to make Thanos think he was a god himself.

*I love Peter Dinklage, but I thought he was awful here. I don't know what they were going for with his performance, but it just felt really flat.

*I think the nano-tech armor of Ironman was awesome, but it just seemed too powerful--and too much, too fast. Going from Civil War to this new tech that could go a few rounds with Thanos?

*I have to rewatch the GoTG movies again, but I think they could have set up Thanos better. Two of his daughters are in the movie, and they end up playing a significant role in IW. Gamorrah dying would have had a bigger impact if they fleshed out her story with Thanos more. Despite Thanos' brutal ways, he did obviously care about Gamorroh in his own twisted way.

My ten year old son loved what they did with ebony maw. How he talked and how he conducted himself. He thought maw was the most compelling character.

At first, I was a bit concerned that my child's favourite Character was a bad guy. But, I guess ten year olds in the 70s thought the same about Vader

So, anyone else think they push up the sequel by a couple of months?

Any man and the wasp - July.

Captain Marvel - September

IW2 - November

????

After all, this was supposed to come out next month

Age of Ultron all over again. Mega hype for a mega let down.

I’m personally pissed because they said these two Avengers films were self-contained. This obviously isn’t the case, and intentionallly lying to say it was, is complete BS. People are gonna stick up for this shit and say wait till the next chapter, but eff that, you’re talking out your ass. Having infinite cop outs for your movie is garbage...derp, wait tilll next movie.[/spolier]
