Peter Quill is a complete man child and suffered tons of trauma in his life.

The fact he acted out and couldn’t control himself isn’t unbelievable

Man Child = Smart ass. That Thor exchange was great. That part of Quill should never change. But if he wants to be the leader and captain of the ship he needs maturing moments.

We base that speculation off of the evidence given to us. In every other scene in which he uses the IG there is a visual identifier; does that make it a fact? Of course not. But based upon what we have available to us that’s a solid theory imo.

Should we speculate that Cap is a woman because we haven’t seen his dick?
I am not even sure what you are saying here. So bizarre.

So because speculation leads you to believe something it HAS TO BE STATED as if fact in your world view? This is not even about me necessarily disagreeing or not. I could agree 100% with your theory and guess but that still does not make it fact nor do you have to state it that way. it could be stated as "I believe that is the case" just as easily.

Oh I loved, "Are you mocking me?"

"ARE YOU MOCKING ME?!"

Well I do think this was the Icing on the cake for him. Everyone he loves has died and couldn’t handle Gamoras death.

Even tony stark is a bit of a man child as well. In the comics he hit rock bottom quite a few times but is still a capable leader

That's the Tony Stark affect of understating one's own canniness. He fukken luh her. They does nice thangs togevvah.

What bothered me was the notion of a kid who was kidnapped in the early 80s being familiar with the term "booty call." You can't reference "booty call" AND "Grimace." That's simply not done!

I didn't like her feeling on Thor either, although I concede it softens her character if she's just niggling Quill (but I don't wike it).

He has a zune now which probably has some booty call music.

He already shot her in the face. Or did an action which would have resulted in him purposefully shooting her in the face. He knew what it was like for Gamora to die even for a split second. Build on that. So he can be Captain Quill one day, tactical genius and smart ass.

Stark is a crazy guy with ptsd.

I took my gf to this watch. She's not into "comic book movies", but i thought this one would be different.
This ***** fell asleep!!
I was half way hoping that she had disappeared when Thanos snapped his fingers

I can see Tony loading up Quill's ship with a bunch of tunes from his suit when he and Nebula take it to get back to Earth.
That's an odd pairing btw. Would never think to put those 2 on screen together.

In the movies yes but In the comics he’s a drunk.

none of the Guardians are mature though, well apart from Gamora

The odd Pairing of characters is what makes these movies awesome.

Thor Groot and rocket. Wut? So awesome though

Rocket is mature, he's just a kleptomaniac. That's why he's Captain Rabbit.

Rocket's klepotmania is like Quill's smart assness.

For the 3rd time, I watched a streamed version and heard the crowd laughing quite quickly to the dialogue, convincing me they knew english.

And again, no one laughed at the Grimmus insult.

lol Rocket is not mature

also Rocket is just as much of a smart ass as Quill

lol Rocket is not mature

He walked Thor through his catharsis and he was aware that's what he was doing. He had a maturing moment in GOTG2 and grew as a character. They're not rehashing old hat with Rabbit.

imagine how awesome a spin off movie with those 3 teaming up would be?

this movie just proved to me that Thor needs to play at least some part in Vol 3 of GotG

It’s so crazy they changed Thor’s character and turned him into an incredible on screen hero. Ragnarok really improved on his MCU character.

Marvel has done such a bang up job the fans should be worshipping them.

Reread my post I bluntly state it’s not a fact but a theory.

I saw it for the 3rd go round last night.
Still loved it.

I really liked the interaction between Tony, Strange, and Parker vs The Guardians. Tony and Parker were legit confused on what the hell those guys were about. They did a good job of establishing the differences between all of the characters and making satisfying meetings.

Another thing I noticed on this watch was back at Gamora's planet, Ebony/Thanos gave people a choice as to what their fate would be. Ebony says something like "choose a side...the saved will go to one side..And those who want to be of the chosen to receive Thanos' gift go to the other" (something like that..can't remember exactly)
It seemed like a way of weeding out the weak.

I took my gf to this watch. She's not into "comic book movies", but i thought this one would be different.

Hahah.

Excellent point to about Gamora’s planet. It’s an intriguing scene because it does not fall in line with Thanos’ typical MO regarding random, disapassionate selection of who lives and who dies. In that particular instance it seems like a clear case of- if you’re with me, you live, if you aren’t, you die.

I also found the Guardians/Parker/Stark/Strange segment really funny. Quill being embarrassed by being put on the spot to explain the “dance off to save the universe,” Mantis’ kicking names and taking ass line and Tony just looking completely dumbfounded in response.

What’s cool too is I get the sense that Quill saw to an extent what Stark, Spidey, and Strange brought to the table in that brief skirmish so was able to formulate his plan with their skills in mind. Meanwhile, Drax and Mantis got thwarted pretty easily in that exchange so Tony and Parker wouldn’t have been able to get a good read on what they brought to the table. Sort of underscored by Iron Man being bewildered by their existence lol and Spidey being like “what do they do?” I guess my point being Quill, by knowing them well and by mixing it up with Iron Man and Spider-Man and Strange was definitely in the best position to plan that offensive against Thanos in a way that best implemented the strengths of those involved and it worked really well to a point.

Also lol at “is it still the greatest film in history?” And Parker very casually, “It never was.”

I rewatched some scenes from Guardians 2 and when Russell is using the song Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl) to emphasize the difference between Celestials and mortals, Quill is like- “You know that song?” And Ego says. “Yes. One of your mother’s favorites. And one of earth’s finest compositions. If not THE finest.”

And Quill just emphatically nods to that statement and says “Yes!”

Just funny- father and son both overstating the quality of certain popular songs, films, shows.
