I feel like the people saying it wasn't like IW are missing the point. It COULDN'T be another 3 hour explosion fest, for a lot of reasons.

Where the story arc is at. Where it's going. The mood the characters were all in after IW. People say these movies don't have depth and heart, yet here is the big climax to this entire story and it's mainly a character study. It's about what family means to us.

The risks and sacrifices we undertake to protect them. Our despair when we fail. How we pick ourselves up and try to redeem ourselves, to show the people we love they are everything to us, we'll do anything to protect them.

This movie was about what it MEANS to he an avenger. To be a human being. They needed every minute of that arc, so it would mean something when they won. And they won their way, holding on to their ideals. They won clean.

This movie is everything comic books are supposed to be about. All of these movies are.

Goddamn, bro. I can't like this post enough.

Truly the end of an era, what a ride it’s been.

Peter crying over Starks death was tough to watch.
So many terrific coming of age moments. The way EVERY main character had to grapple with this sense of failure and loss, but in totally different ways. And at the same time they used it to show stuff from the comics like professor hulk. Just masterful imo.

Most of the movie was just them sitting down and talking about what they've been through, what it's done to them. Just the weight of it. That's something I would expect from the watchmen.

Deconstructing superheroes from within a superhero story. There's more going on here than some people seem to see.

Don't click on this thread mantra repeats over and over and over in my head every time I refresh berry discussion. I scrolled here fast so I didn't see anything.

Reserving this spot to review after I see it today!

Also yes what a ride indeed. I've never been on such an emotional roller coaster with a film series. I love these movies, I really do. They're more than I could have hoped for. These guys love the characters and the lore like I do.

Never would have expected that in Hollywood.

1) Wait, aren't they going to do Black Widow movie? Perhaps she came back to life when Cap returned the soul stone?

2) Wait, so the Cap (that went and stayed in the past) was just chilling out during all the previous events in previous Avengers films?

3) Everyone who turned to ash was brought back 5 years later, hopefully no one had scaled back food production by 50%.

1) From what I’ve read. The Black Widow movie is set 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union which puts it around 2006. So pre Iron Man, but old enough that they won’t need to CGI anyone to look younger.

2) I am wondering that myself. Peggy having dementia sort of helps if he was waiting in the shadows just watching events unfold. I’m sure there’s a more fitting answer to be explained later.

3) I watched a video on what exactly would happen if 50% of life was wiped out Thanos style. Life on this planet would pretty much cease to exist for the survivors as a result. As the movie showed, even the animals were affected by the “snappening” as Ant Man was amazed to see birds alive. Think about how devastated the ecosystem becomes when you lose half its predators, plant life, endangered species, and pollinators. I’m never one to let science get in the way of my fantasy, but that was a sobering reminder. It took millions of years for the mammals that led to humans to become the dominant species after dinosaurs.

My one complaint is at the end when Jon Favreau promises Morgan Stark all the cheeseburgers she wants.

Now I know "Hap" is due some respect for all of the heavy lifting he did to get the Avengers on to the big screen - but the scene lingered too long - I wanted the kid to look up at him and say, "What? Like fucking today? Jesus Christ - I could eat the north side of a whale's ass right now."

There would have been ample time for her to say that.
When watching that scene, I assumed it was ad-libbed. The little kid had no lines, it was just Jon talking to a child with the cameras rolling.

If it was truly scripted that way, they would have made her do a Tony-esque quip like "I want shwarma".

No lines in that scene, just a child with a grown-up talking on a porch.

Favreau earned his moment. He was so fucking money. To make him the butt of a joke one last time would have been a shitty thing to do.

It was a kid being innocent in a very sad situation. I was very emotional during the whole thing, so Happy reacting the way he did was how I would've said it.

So how many new timelines were created by the time travel. There are now 3 time lines? The one they are currently in, the one in 2012 is different as Loki escapes with the space stone and 2014 is different as there is no longer any Thanos. What about Steve Rodgers showing up in the same timeline as well?

The implication to me seems to be that when paradoxs occur timelines spilt, so the old 2012 and 2014 timelines still exist feeding into the present but new ones are also created. That said the new 2014 timeline has been resolved by Nebula and then Thanos and co traveling forward to the present, hence Thanos dies twice.

Good stuff.

Part of the reason I hate the Carol Danvers character here, they have directed her to be cardboard and boring, glad they at least take her away for most of the movie.

Just saw it.

Legit fucking 10/10 for me. As a culmination movie, literally over a decade in the making it was absolutely phenomenal. So many great scenes. A surprising amount of emotional weight to the film. Starting with the gut punch at the beginning.

Cap wielding Mjonlir was all I could have fucking wanted. It was the most badass scene in any comic book movie. Years in the making, hinted at in Age of Ultron and then Thor's reaction was great. Cap calling down the thunder, flying with the hammer, it was all fucking bad ass. Topped off with Sam's "On your left" and then the "Avengers Assemble." Just so damn good.

Russos stated that in the first draft of IW, Captain America was supposed to be the "big introduction" in the fight in Wakanda. However, after mulling it over, they schanged the script and gave that scene to Thor.

I'm glad they did for two reasons:

- Thor's character arc after Ragnorak made him a fan favorite.
- Russos holding onto the "OMG Cap really is the true bad-ass of the Avengers" until EndGame was fitting.

I like caps Arc in the "Infinity" movies. 1st Movie cap looked weary and worn out his role felt minor , 2nd movie he is unleashed the image of him standing alone agaisnt Thanos' Army is epic, you root for him but you know he isn't alone.

Oh, and I really like how they changed Thanos' motivations within Endgame:

Infinity War - Guy trying to show mercy to the universe by creating a system where there are more resources than people in order to save humanity from itself.

Endgame - Screw that, I want to wipe out 100% of life in the universe and then create my own life and make it bow down to me.

Endgame cut through the bullshit and let everyone see Thano's true colors. He had just as much of a god complex as Ultron.

I’m sitting and thinking about the movie as two separate entities, and am thinking to myself that I’m wrong. In the same way I had to look at Deathly Hallows as a “one but separate “ movie. As a whole, this will go down as one of the greatest movie experiences of my life. And I’m not talking just IW and EG. I’m talking the creation of the MCU is all the little comic book kids in any of us could have ever hoped for.

I feel bad for comic fans growing up never knowing life without the MCU. They will never feel the same level of joy us older fans attained watching our dreams come true.

The whole movie you could tell that Black Widow was lost and Stark was the only one who had a great life after the snap. As soon as they said that Widow and Clint we're going for the Soul Stone, I figured she would sacrifice herself. And with Tony, you could just tell it was being setup for him to take the fall to save the universe.

I loved both those parts equally. Being a huge Ironman nut, I am super stoked my dude went out the way he did ,if he had to go that is. He was the first movie to kickstart this universe, and he went out like an absolute fucking boss. When Strange stared at him and motioned, I felt my stomach sink. RDJ was the heart and soul of the Marvel Cinematic universe to me, and will be sorely missed.

After seeing it I voted a 9, but now that I've thought more about it, I can't decide if I should have voted 8. Loved all the Easter eggs and references to the comics, thought the humor was good in most places, and I don't know how else they could have closed out this saga. Thanos was a badass and wrecked everyone sans Wanda. Carol's best feat was holding his hand back before getting punched away and this is when Thanos first gets the gauntlet having never used it before. I was glad he remained a threat and I thought he was scarier in this than IW knowing that he was going full out. I don't think it has the rewatchability of IW, but it was a great send off and closer for this chapter of the MCU. No cheers for Captain Marvel in my theater but people lost their shit when Steve uses Mjolnir. I probably won't see it in theaters again, kind of long and I don't really care to see the time travel portions again. This is in my top 10 Marvel movies, but I don't know about top 5.

Ending was great beginning is to slow
Bucky should have been picked as the new Cap America considering he's actually been shot up with super serum. And falcon is just a regular dude who gets lapped when running

iu

But I feel the whole "bucky is white" thing worked against him here.

It should have been Bucky without a doubt.

Saw it last night it was good but to slow in the middle. Ending was great.

The whole movie was super emotional. The beginning and the end had my eyed wet.

The middle part had me worried because time travel is always tricky but they pulled it off perfectly. Great character moments for Nebula Cap Tony Widow and Hawkeye. I loved the interaction between Hulk and the Ancient One. And they kept you guessing what would happen when they are done time traveling.

EDIT:Can't forget about Thor and his mom. What a great mom he has.
Renee Russo with make up is very, very doable in her mid 60s. I'd probably marry her.

Funny, i thought the time travel portions were better to rewatch. Back to the Future vibe got me.

The end battle was rushed. Again, it looked like the end battle in Ready Player One, meaning a lot is going on, but in the background. Its a lot and you cant see it. The one on one battles with Thanos were enjoyable, but short.

The battle on Titan is still the best.

Pepper has a suit?!

Btw, the "on your left" may had been my favorite line.
