Cap basically created an alternate reality at the end. I was fine with the time travel. It's always wonky, but I was good with it.

Lokie stealing the teserac - new timeline
thanos 2014 dying - oh you bet your ass new timeline
cap going back to live with carter - new timeline

and then their was the convenient "oh cap will just single handily return all the stones at the exact time they were taken" nonsense. Uhm...wat? Returning the stones would be every bit as complicated and tricky as it was GETTING the stones...lol. Except...how do you return a soul stone? Did he return it before Widow sacrifices herself? Does returning it bring back Widow? And wouldn't that have been an interesting scene seeing Cap reunited with Red Skull?

Oh nevermind...let's just destract you with old Cap.

I think Hawkeye dealt with this the best when he was breaking things down for Wanda during Age of Ultron
"The city is flying. The city is flying. And we're fighting an army of robots. And I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense."
It's perfectly applicable here, imo. For god sake, there are armored alien space whales flying out of the sky while an army that includes a talking raccoon, tree-man, 100 year old WW2 vet and the literal God of Thunder fight a big angry purple dude for control of magic stones that control the entire universe.
It's all madness.

And yet infinite war works and is flawless. Even though "the city is flying and I have a bow and arrow"

It's about creating a movie and laying down a set of rules and then sticking to those rules.

Man Avengers 1 aged so horribly.

Well you can get bogged down all you want trying to fuss with the sense of a comic book movie, bruh. We all want different things out of our entertainment.
Personally, I was absolutely thrilled.
I don't care what they do with it, I'm bowing out of this nonsense.
Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya

And they did lol

Let's get that Cap going through time oneshot.

We didn't really miss it, but it's still true.

Cap lived his old life in a new timeline but that timeline merged with the current timeline? Man time machine bullshit sucks. I really dislike elements like that outside of back to the future.

Nw that I had more time to reflect on the movie, I have to say I like more moments than dislike. My initial 7/10 wont change, but I did think the last half of the movie was pretty much all good. Bucky knowing he'll never see Cap as we kow it again etc all add up in emotional moments.

Meh, I still remember the good times. Avengers 1 blew my mind when it came out, never imagined it would all culminate in this finale though.

Its only been 7 years and it looks like a straight to DVD movie, the CG really improved but there are films 2 decades old with better CGI, so its weird.

Lol wasn’t it established that the only shit that mattered in the timelines was the infinity stones being brought back?

But the stones in their timeline is gone, so what does that mean?

Im not even gonna try think of deeply into a comic book movie, where deus ex machina is in every movie. Just enjoy the ride.

I like this dude when he talks about thedifferent Comic series. But he overreaches with Movie Reviews. Real movie reviewers like Nerd Soup and Double Toasted actually put more nuanced thought into how they break down movies, this guy is the epitome of a Neck Beard suggesting nonsense and seeing nonsense.

Are you hungry?

My one complaint is at the end when Jon Favreau promises Morgan Stark all the cheeseburgers she wants.

Now I know "Hap" is due some respect for all of the heavy lifting he did to get the Avengers on to the big screen - but the scene lingered too long - I wanted the kid to look up at him and say, "What? Like fucking today? Jesus Christ - I could eat the north side of a whale's ass right now."

There would have been ample time for her to say that.

I feel like the people saying it wasn't like IW are missing the point. It COULDN'T be another 3 hour explosion fest, for a lot of reasons.

Where the story arc is at. Where it's going. The mood the characters were all in after IW. People say these movies don't have depth and heart, yet here is the big climax to this entire story and it's mainly a character study. It's about what family means to us.

The risks and sacrifices we undertake to protect them. Our despair when we fail. How we pick ourselves up and try to redeem ourselves, to show the people we love they are everything to us, we'll do anything to protect them.

This movie was about what it MEANS to he an avenger. To be a human being. They needed every minute of that arc, so it would mean something when they won. And they won their way, holding on to their ideals. They won clean.

This movie is everything comic books are supposed to be about. All of these movies are.

Truly the end of an era, what a ride it’s been.

Peter crying over Starks death was tough to watch.

Yeah, I feel like he puts too much thought into it.
