6. Its cool they want to bring everyone back but what about all the people that moved and started new lives now thats an awkward moment. sorry i had two more kids since you were gone.
You know there was some dude in a loveless marriage running through NYC clicking his heels over not having to deal with his nagging wife anymore and visiting the remaining strip clubs then she shows back up
“Thanks a lot, Tony!”

In my sister's words....the women lining up scene was SO DUMB from a story perspective....

Just so you know I' not mad about it...I just found it hilariously stupid.

Avatar also had to be re-released.
"Had to" is a funny phrase.

I wonder if you might be thinking of TITANIC though, which had slipped from the number two spot but regained it when it was re-released in 3D. I seem to recall AVATAR having a really long initial run, and maybe one of those return-to-theaters-see-it-again maybe a year later, perhaps come awards season.

That may have been the case. It still had two runs.

I don't quite grasp the acrimony against Cameron, although I do recall he rubbed a bunch of people the wrong way after his acceptance speech for TITANIC. It's like he's being punished for being a nerd about his own film and quoting it -- which he again did for AVATAR ("I'm the king of the world/I see you"). But it's really weird to me that he's delivered unquestionable some of Sherdog's favorite films yet he's made out to be some egomaniac. Which I admit that he is, but every director is and there have been far greater les enfants terribles on a much lesser scale of artistry. I used to think, like with AVATAR being the top dog, he was hated simply because he's moved the needle farther than most directors. But yeah, hate.

So is it guaranteed to beat Avatar, not likely, or we don't know?
